so while trying to sneak into a heavily fortified city with only four tank protected access points today, I got to thinking: how about giving scouts a grappling hook type ability, to scale low walls and reach decent vantage points? It seems like in a future such as the New Eden presents, a ten foot wall shouldn't constitute an impassable barrier to a merc whose sole purpose is battlefield disruption and intelligence gathering...Cmon, CCP - how about a little leg up for the little guys? |

Currently one of the few uses for DS is reaching high/hard to reach places, lets not take that away from them. Additionally think how awful it would make the game to have heavies raining down from little nooks because some scout scaled a wall and put a DU in there. In some instances this would make DU totally unkillable.

Had this idea a few months ago when we didnt know if Scouts would be improved.
I think its fine - and the same reason the other poster saying we shouldnt is the reason we should. Currently in some matches only one side have Drop ships - and what do they do??? exactly.

If you make it scout-only equipment, then scouts wouldn't be able to deploy uplinks, since they only have one equipment slot. |

Nope. Not saying you're wrong, just saying I don't remember that, since to be able to remember something you have to know it in the first place. |

Well, like a true grappling hook, I'd think there would be a height limit - ten feet? twenty feet? Just something to give a scout that edge in a close quarters battle where a) dropships can't get in close to make a big difference and b) a cornered scout is toast, no matter how good their gun game... |

Things like this could be built into the suit, you could select it from the weapon/equipment wheel.
Scout - grappling hook
Heavy - siege mode, basically invincible for a short time.
Logi - healing nanite cloud, aoe healing and ammo restoration from logi suit.
Assault - relentless mode, increased reload,weapon switching and damage.
Commando - Shock and awe, increased movement speed and regen.
All except the scout would require a cool down I believe and I'm just chucking this out there.
