A device that gives you access to enemy squad comms. Quite situational, and can be used by scanning (or something) a corpse, giving you access to their voice comms for ~20-30 seconds

I would love to hear what enemys are saying without turning it into COD. More beneficial for the scout please.
Don't look him in the eye, WHAT DID I JUST SAY?!!!

Cool in theory, useless in practice. Aside from anything else, I spend most of my time talking sh*t while I'm in squad. Do you really want to hear that?
More importantly, gameplay-wise, there is such a thing as teamspeak. For that reason it'd be worthless for competitive play.
Happily printing ISK with permahardeners and MLT blasters.
Just let me get a couple mil more before nerf, CCP!

COD4 had a perk that did just this. It was the stupidest perk ever. Guys trust me when I say there is nothing the enemy is saying that would outweigh a Scanner, Nanohive or remote explosives.

Everyone would just use third party software to communicate.
Everything that messes with comms is cool in theory, impossible in practice.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Only if the groups are small. If you had larger groups that had to intermingle and separate as tasks were accomplished, having to distribute tags to everyone of interest would be a headache.
Imagine playing a MMO and having to add everyone around you into a PM client just to type to them to even see if they were worth your time listening to etc etc... that would be annoying as all get-out.
Games as we have them now just cannot carry the capacity to make ingame chat more viable than external chat, yet that day ingame chat is preferred will come... the only thing that could really stop it is if computers and games simply stopped improving.
If you can read this, it means you are reading.

Yeah, basically it'd be useful in pubs, in the sense that people will be using ingame chat, although I doubt you'll get too much tactical info...
But the hyper-organised creature that is PC? Nope. Worthless. Not that hard to set up a client for ~20 people a couple of hours in advance - hell, we do this anyway, or near enough.
As long as they didn't remove in game chat, there 'd be zero problem.
