I refuse to capture objectives and do anything proactive for any team until this tank spam has ended. I cant take the rail tanks or the tank spam anymore. I will be sitting in the redline with my sniper rifle and collecting SP and ISK. Until CCP fixes this horrible debacle how can anyone enjoy the game or play the role they wish to play. I will camp and do nothing from here on. If you feel the same sign your name or just be tank fodder until this S*** is fixed.

I agree with you 100%. I have stuck with this game even after all my friends have left for BF4 and other games, but I am seriously thinking about just quitting now, it is just no fun to play anymore. |

I'd say just hold on until the next patch to see what changes they propose. They've already confirmed they will add points for AV just damaging tanks in 1.8, which is not a solution in itself to the problem but it will alleviate the aggravations somewhat (people will now have some reward for pulling out AV). I believe the CPM's view is that the pricing of the tanks decreased too quickly so hopefully that might be modified also - but I'd really be interested in seeing what they do for the "effectiveness" of current AV weapons - the swarm launcher comes to mind. Until the day that the cheapest, most effective counter to another tank is NOT just another tank, then tank spam will remain...

He is right. Dust is broken. A member of my corp said it best, and it was something to the effect of "your playstyle got left behind".Dust has taken the direction it has taken, and it is what it is. Unfortunately, this means your role works well and is enjoyable to play, or your role is not enjoyable to play at all, and flat out isn't pertinent anymore. I would hope CCP will fix things, but the soon TM joke was old long ago, and at this point we are looking at a different game than what was originally intended.
I've heard it plenty before but I went through Jim Jones' suicide tape transcript to find a good quote...jesus christ.

all i usually see r 1 -2 std tanks and maybe some mlt ones.
and they dont last long when i get into position to destroy them.
and aside from that. id rather be facing a mlt blaster tank instead of some proto bear with a rail rifle which has longer range and basically the same power of a large blaster turret.

step1. stop running around in the middle of large open areas when tanks are nearby.
2. learn how to open your eyes.
3.stop crying on the forums each time u see one.
4.use proper tactics to counter them.
5.dont run towards it and DONT stand still looking down the barrel of the turret.
its that simple on how to avoid tanks. |

Ambush is still terrible with the tank spam. The inintial fight for tank superiority is fun, but once dominance has been established, the game crumbles.
Skirmish is better, with the exceptions being the extremely large maps where 4-5 tanks can roam with impunity.
It needs to be fixed.
Nothing says "F**K YOU!" like a direct Flaylock to the face.

Thanks, that was super informative now when I spawn into the only available objective surrounded on all sides by 4+, or need to run uplinks past the tank battalion camping the redline I'll just remember what you posted here and never die again. |

4) Like heavy weapons, other tanks, Remote explosives, Rail turrets, Teamwork with any combination of these
5) (a) You put the explosives somewhere the tanks are likely to go over rather than try to place them where the tanks are. Roads are usually a good bet I've noticed, especially near objectives.
When I play as a sniper, I'm more likely to be nearer to the opponents redline than my own.

Sica + 2 Militia Damage mods + Militia Armor Hardener + Militia Heavy Armor Repair.
No skills.
can Kill any tanker with dmg mods active and at a cost of 78k ISK is cheaper then most suits people run.
DUST should never be a one dimensional game where people never explore tanks, or how to get competitive with one. even a militia fit one. |

Why not just not join games if you're that upset about it? Doing what you say you're planning on doing makes it harder for the rest of your team.
When I play as a sniper, I'm more likely to be nearer to the opponents redline than my own.

leGame can either be balanced as if there were two teams using all of the resources available to make it a varied and intense(+ Isk costly game) witch i think is cool, and play together utilising the strengths of having like 1 dropship and two types of tanks in the field. Or it can be framed as after the casual gamers that dont use mic's and wanna shoet and get kills/schtuffs. If you prefer the first, the AV grendes etc will not insta kill a tank with 3 throws and they will be hard to kill. I like it better when they can stay in there a little in a good FW fight. Stay in there, keep your heads low, and watch your six new players. Spend Isk, if you are in a good Teamplay, have fun, and if you find yourfelf pissed it is time for a little dust break, thats what i usually do |

No! If someone wants to play world of tanks there's a game called world of tanks just for that! I want to play a stategy fps/mmo that allows me to do something besides sit on my can in a **** tank! calvin is in the same place as many vets. Trying to justify continued play due to the massive amount of time and effort he invested into the game. I did the same thing, though it was with dropships. Its trying to squeeze out that last little bit of fun, trying to re discover that original fun, or trying to hold out and hope that Dust will one day become fun again. I went through it, as have many others. Unfortunately, i'm on the second to last stage of my Dust life, loging in every 5 days or so to bullsh*t with my corp for an hour or two. The last stage is reading the forums and sometimes posting, due more to habit than anything, with no actuall game play. After that, Dust is just an awful memory that fades away with time.
Calvin, I hope you find your fun again man. Its looking to be to late for me.
