Since CCP is making the Gallente repair tanks and the Amarr pure armor tanks I thought I would post some suggestions to nudge both these suits into that direction.
Buff the Gallente base armor HP by 20% and nerf their shields by 15%. Scale the passive armor repair to 3/5/7. Then buff the Amarr base armor HP by 10% above the Gallente and nerf the shields by 10%. Buff armor repairers to 3/5/7.
1) Armor HP buff is only to remove the Caldari - Gallente "Mirror", because armor is less durable than shields it should be slightly higher, the small nerf to shields means that Caldari will have the highest base shields and slightly balance out the armor HP buff.
2) The 1/2?/3 armor repair is so insignificant that it would be best served for the Amarr, whom even though are not repair tanks that tiny repair will do nothing to build upon.
Using 1.8 stats and my numbers the suits would go as follow:
Gallente sentinel Armor:630 Shields:331.5 (330) Armor repair: 3 Shield repair: 15--5/6
Amarr sentinel Armor: 693 (700) Shields: 340 Armor repair: 0 (1) Shield repair: 15--5/5
Gallente commando Armor: 480 Shields: 212.5 (210) Armor repair: 3 Shield repair: 15--7/10
Amarr commando Armor: 550 Shields: 180 Armor repair: 0 (1) Shield repair: 15--7/8
Gallente scout Armor: 155 Shield: 70 Armor repair: 7 Shield repair: 30--4/6
Amarr scout Armor: 175 Shield:55 Armor repair: 0 (3) Shield repair:30--4/6
Let the flame begin.

I see 0 5's in there but i do see a 7....for scouts.... Why scouts? Wouldn't it make the most sense to give the biggest passive repair to the one with the most armor (aka the one that would actually need it)? Scouts get speed at the cost of armor, which means they are evasive. I personally would give the highest passive repair to the one that can't evade bullets easily. Then again i'am one of the few players whose posts don't end with 'let the flame begin' (aka a troll post masquerading as a legit post)

I wrote it for scouts because that's how CCP wants it I assume, then again we haven't seen medium suit stats but more than likely that's how CCP was going to set it. As for what I wrote at the end is because when I wrote about the Gallente and Caldari and armor and shields that's how the posts usually end.

On the one you are right, but I on the other hand it makes also more sense on the scouts. The scouts have a smaler HP pool to rely on therefore it makes sense (from their perspective) to invest in repair especially as additional armor would make them slower. The High HP pool suits on the other hand can rely on their HP for the most part and the difference between one or 3 hp/sec don't seem to that worthwhile for them...
Apart from that +1 I don't like the mirroring (esecially as the gallente get the short end) |
