It's messed up for me as well.
Oh, and that's no a "contact mark." It's a neutral standing mark (a grey equal sign). In EvE, they're used to show player standings, either good (light and dark blue pluses) or bad (orange and red minuses). Hopefully that will translate to Dust so I can mark people for revenge killing.

On the EVE side that means either a personal, corporate or alliance contact with a neutral standing. Since DUST has no concept of standings the forum software is defaulting to neutral. FW doesn't use standings, only the war target marking.
I really wish we had standings here. I can't remember everyone I don't like.
