I didn't want to write this piece because honestly I enjoy laughing at all of you. But, the joke always gets old. So I decided to try to enlighten all of you who complain about this mechanic of the game.
Any gamer who has ever played strategy games knows that you gotta build a defense around your assets, it's the most basic strategy of all times, heck, even those medieval people would build walls around their cities and castles.
If you want to brag about leaving your assets open while Knowing that your military force is weaker than your opponent, you fail at basic strategy.
Bigger corps are aproacing this as petty and barbaric as well. If they would have even the slight knowledge of war strategy, they would've been unstoppable, yet they feel frustrated and anxious.
One simple yet powerful move, "Trojan Horse". You buy directors with yummies amount of money or promise of power, they will unlock their corp districts, they will steal players, they will sell their soul to you.
Why am I typing this? Well, because I consider people my personal amusement. And I like watching things burn. |

The problem is people assume that once their name is on a district it's 'theirs'. It's not. It's part of a game that hundreds of other people are playing. It's like saying the assault rifle is yours because you use it. Or the scout suit is nickmunson's because he is near the top of the kill leaderboards (plug nick). It's simply not. Everyone in this game uses these tools (weapons/suits/districts) to make isk. Selfishly taking one of these tools out of the game so that others can't use it is immature. It shows that you can't handle losing or that you don't have enough faith in your ability to allow other a fair playing field. Glitches are glitches; they get fixed and we move on. District locking is not a glitch. It's a loophole in the game mechanics that some people choose to exploit.
"But TK, people use loopholes every day in RL..."
Yes. That's why taxes go up or why a drunk driver who killed someone's mom gets out of serving jail time. Obviously some situations are a little more extreme then others, but loopholes are generally frowned on by most of society.
The point is, people found a loophole and are using it constantly, but for what? Isk farming and defending something that's 'theirs'. But what does that get you really? Mountains of isk? What could you possibly do with it after months of farming? There's no prize for having a trillion dollars in your corp or personally wallets. Why not just stop self attacking, defend as many districts as you can (who cares if you hire ringer?) and let others play the game?

I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, you are stupid, I'm gonna call you naive or ignorant. This is not a communist game, heck not even a democracy. It's an cunning man land, whatever way you use to keep the land, whether by force, or diplomacy, whether is timers or ringers, glitches, etc. The smarter will prevail.
Don't make yourself believe that your corp did the right thing, no, you are a bunch of fools and ignorant players, you have no strategy or vision.
To compete you need resources, you need to outsmart your oponent by any mean necessary. This is after all a fuckiiing war simulation game. Show me a fair war, without dirty tactics or deceive, you are naive and stupid.
Re evaluate your end game history, and read a little, people who make the same mistakes over and over are meant to never be anything.

If there was ways to get isk other than having to grind pubs then I'd agree, if there were other ways to train players like corp battles then I'd agree.

Tech u know I respect you, but seriously the whining needs to stop. every single one of us started with 0 isk.
we all saved up to enter PC at 1 point or another, gambling with our own savings at 1 time. some won on the roulette wheel, some didn't.
you want to get into PC now, yes you are at a disadvantage. deal with it.
grind your isk. instead of looking for handouts get your players on board, up the corp tax, tell everyone to use free/cheap fits and build a wallet.
once u get 4-500mil holler at someone (ERA would be my suggestion) and purchase a district.
then voila, you're in PC and can cover your guys expenses for a few matches and you can roll with the big boys.
standing on the corner with a change cup is only gonna get you laughed at, or ignored.

My point of view is that it's just isk and seen as people whine all the time that they are bored and have billions, I thought hey, I'm impatient, many are bored, its a match made in heaven lol.
I estimate we'll be at 500 million in about 2 months now and that's precisely what our aim was as we'd need a buffer to train with, are you psychic?
