Trophies are bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Updates will have new bunch of online trophies. As for platinum, PVD and rookie training could have their trophies and a Platinum one as you pass through all PVD missions.
For new players trophies could be the guide to growth and skill.
For mature players it will be more like a fun to do.
Like get 3000 kills in one week and you get a gold medal, 2000 kills for silver and so on.
Types of achievements may vary.
Example: headshot twice in 5 seconds from distance greater then 300 meters with officer weapon.
PC does not have such but if it could I would give silver trophie for Dagan in EVE rookie training program.
Trophies themselves could bring rewards with them also. For getting a bundle of determined trophies a player gets a reward of some kind. Could be good for newbies.
No matter what, I would like to hear out your opinion guys.

No trophies in Dust, please. This game is complex enough without having the distraction of having to skill into a half-dozen weapons to fulfill some trophy requirement. |

Every PS3 game that is released has trophies... Except for Dust and of course except for the first couple of the PS3 games when it first launched. That can be found HERE
CCP has mentioned before somewhere on the forums that Dust will support Trophies... But still nothing ..
Also how they mentioned We can use our VIta's with Dust.. And still nothing..
On the side note, they should add Avatars to the PSN store .. Make them a few extra $ to support the game.
So don't see the trophies support coming anytime soon.

Yeah sure add them.
After they fix all the issues and add all the rest of the game content.

Trophies are always optional, no one will be forced to.
I want trophies.

im kinda against the trophy system... because they are pointless..
now ones that can be earned that dont involve multiplayer matchmaking r fine by me..
the ones that anger me the most?
those trophies that involve killing other players in matchmaking. now if its part of a pve mode or something i guess it would be ok.
the problems i find with many games when im out achievement or trophy hunting r those trophies in the game that involve the multiplayer match making. that it self makes obtaining the platinum impossible for most players. i dont see those types of trophies as a challenge. i see them as an annoying pain in the ass. |

If we are not going to have trophies for a while. I for one would love to have trophies since I like to take pride of my PSN player card.
But check this out, how about in game achievements that would let you earn Skill points for doing in game challenges

I replied saying that earning trophies could bring benefit inside of the game for not being just pointless hunting for your PSN card improvement.
Of something nothing is everything.
