I noticed this went to the scout instead. seems backwards..shouldnt the scout get 1 HP armor rep?
Amarr can armor tank harder than Gal Heavy so it should have the more flexible armor im thinking. |

Does 3HP/s even matter when you have 1000HP?

It doesn't even matter anymore to me; the Gallente are doomed once 1.8 comes out. Our buffer won't mean cap and our repair won't mean crap. If people actually helped and repaired and/or if armor repairers weren't so bad then it might be worth while to armor tank but it isn't really. It's only good for stacking damage mods which are going to hell in 1.8. We have the Caldari sentinel that can recharge at 30hp/s in 1 second that's the best passive tanker in the game! Not to mention the massive shield buffer it will get as a heavy suit. The gal heavy gets a laughably poor 1hp/s and the hope that a logi will help.

Gal heavy has four lows.
Amarr has a more flexible tank.
And the 1hp/s is entirely token. I don't know if you've ever tried to rep a bricked Sentinel with K/17Ds, but if not, suffice to say avoid it.
You're gonna have a bad time.

According to a dev the 1sec depleted recharge for caldari heavy is believe to be a typo, no final word yet though.

This is probably why I won't go Gallente in 1.8 since passive armor tanking will suck and buffer tanking won't make much of a difference anymore with guns like the RR out classing everything. On top of that CCP might change the damage proficiency bonus so it does another 10% damage to armor . When it comes to tanks armor tanking works because the Maddy has more HP in armor than a Gunn has in shields not some crappy backwards copy. And equipping an armor repair isn't detrimental but a very effective module choice not only that but the Maddy has speed so he can easily close distance on a rail gun, suffice it to say if the rail gun gets the jump on him the Maddy will lose but this feels more balanced than the infantry "balance".
Amarr and Gallente Role had just "swap".
Amarr is now pure Brick tanking like Eve. And Gallente is full Hp Regen. NOT pure armor tanking anymore
Gallente crying is pretty funny because Amarr has ALWAYS played like you're going to play WITHOUT base Hp regen and never cried. |

Except we can't tank with HP regeneration in Dust... The best we can get is 31.25, that's like what a 5% damage reduction from a average gun. Regardless if we are armor tanks or armor regen both do not work well enough to fulfill the role. A Gallente suit still needs more base HP in armor than a Caldari has in shields, as for repairs is 1 has really good enough to rely on lol? When damage mods go the best tank will again be shields and omni tank.

1. Don't QQ about reps. I'm more than sure you can fit enough reps on your G.Heavy to make them ACTIVELY repair between 12-25 Armor. I do it on most of my better suits. It just means you're less likely to armor tank to the extreme like the race that's actually supposed to....the Amarr. We actively rep while the Caldari have to wait until the battle's over.
2. Gallente were never meant to be the best armor tank. :I Seriously. Look at our gear and tell me that you're serious. We're CQC pros with Blasters who also are highly mobile despite the armor usage and rely on intel. Our way of fighting revolves around adapting instead of a pure aggressive response. I'm currently playing like this because of the fighting style's needs. I don't know about you but reps save me plenty of time and add on extra TTK since they're active while shield users don't get the same special TTK bonus due to their rechargers needing a cooldown after taking a hit.
3. The weapons do need fixing. I can't argue with that. I will argue that armor users still aren't completely screw'd with them. I don't know where the Hell you're getting the idea that the RR and CR are going to become even better next update but you're losing me here. The only people with damage potential boosters for rifles are the Commandos and the Minmatar Assault and last time I checked both of those will have major weaknesses.
All in all. Nobody wants to hear a Gallente QQing and talking about changing races. Especially not other Gallentes. We had a good moment in the sun with our ARs and armor tanking now the Amarr get it and they're losing an enhancement on their ScR. Caldari's shields are becoming more viable and the Minmatar are actually better at giving out damage now.

Well, considering the Caldari heavy gets 30hp/s... Why the **** not?
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

I am satisfied with the passive amor rep on the gallente suits. The only issue I still have with them is their speed and the mirrored slot layout with the caldari (while the caldari gets in general the upper hand in terms of dropsuit stats).
Gallente should be the second fastest faction so I think a small speed buff would be really healthy for the gallente to further seperate them from the caldari.
Currently they are just a weaker mirror of the caldari design which is odd as the gallente should be technically more advanced...

1 sec IF DEPLETED. It means Caldari needs to be near to DEATH to actually use it. Like a "second wind".
While your passive repair going to be permanent. It's up to you to fit on your Gallente Reactives Plates and Armor Repair.

You get the shield recharge after 4sec when you don't get shot and after 1 sec if your shields are down. And to be honest with 500+ shields you can afford to fit a shield recharger on the caldari sentinal with ease to further boost regeneration...And thanks to 1 sec for depleted shield you can safely skip regulators a all and put in armor reps or some other useful low items (you have plenty to choose here).... |
