The following post is basically copypasta from the EVE-O forums because CCP keeps our forums separate. I wanted both player bases to see this idea and see the different perspectives/ideas on it. I've made some small edits for clarity.
No one will argue that the link between EVE and DUST is extremely minimal. That link is one of the things that drew me to DUST. One thing I think could help strengthen that link is the MCC.
As they are now, the MCCs are mostly useless art assets, only serving as a (generally undesirable) spawn point. It would be just as meaningful if some unseen target far off past the horizon was the MCC and the spawn point replaced with another ground spawn.
One of my ideas was that they would be piloted by EVE pilots. There would be four racial MCCs. (Concept art exists for the Minmatar and Amarr MCCs. I can find it later.) They would have skill requirements and bonuses attached to the hull in the same way EVE ships have. They would have low, med, and hi slots and CPU/PG. They could be fit with various modules to help your team. Since MCCs currently don't move (was that the old Skirmish where they moved across the map?), they could be focused on battlefield support.
Tanking modules to help survivability. Expanded clone vats to increase your clone count. Air-to-Ground weaponry to help with area denial (mostly I'm thinking some kind of defense against being redlined.) If drones are introduced to assist players, players could launch them from the MCC's drone bays.
Rewards could include a larger than current DUST ISK payout for contracts completed, LP with the corresponding Navy for FW, etc. Killmails. The ability to betray your team.
As far as scale, I'm not really sure how MCCs compare to EVE ships. Are they larger than a frigate? Smaller? Would they be capable of space flight? Would they have warp drives? Maybe they could be deployed from some anchored structure in orbit. Could an MCC fit in and be transported by a warbarge (a whole other topic, of Warbarges and the EVE-DUST Link)?
These are just a few of my ideas. I really want DUST to be a great game, and I truly believe the way to accomplish that is for a strong link between EVE and DUST. How do you envision the future of MCCs?

This is actually another one of CCPs broken promises. We were supposed to be able to purchase MCCs and move them around the battlefield. Were supposed to have a field sargent sit in the war room and watch the holo map calling out orders to the rest of the team. When the game was released I had saved 120,000,000 ISK to be able to buy my own MCC. No we shouldn't have EVE pilots operating them. DUST mercs should. They are about the size of a battle cruiser? From what I've heard. Bigger than a frigate. There are too many different options that would help to expand this game and connect DUST to EVE online

I'm imagining this for PC+ mode or some alternate Fw, one where it's 24v24 on yhe fully expanded map where the MCC has mountains to hide behind, coordinates for MCC cannons to be inputted, along with fighter-bombers and gunships.

CCP never stated when MCC will be pilotable y Dust merc. Giving them to eve pilots is wrong idea - they suppose to be surface ships. Pilots can have WarBarage instead.

Are you sure about that? Frigates in EVE are about the size of an jumbo jet. The MCCs don't look that much bigger than a 747, but sizes are deceptive in Dust. |

EDIT: An idea just occurred to me. NPC MCCs would exist for casual gameplay or when an EVE pilot is otherwise unavailable. They could behave in a limited way with the increased functionality an EVE pilot could bring to the table. MCCs are supposed to be operated by Dust players.
However, they are carried by War Barges, which are flown by EVE players.

MCCs will be piloted by dust bunnies, keep yur EvE cooties away! there is an object larger than an MCC, a warbarge that CCP have expressed interest in having eve pilots fly, I suggest you watch eve vagas if you haven't yet it will outline the plan for eve dust interaction.
I am a capsuleer my self and looking forward to flying warbarges
oh, BTW the MCC is about the size of a rifter or a little bigger.

What if the only difference to my initial idea of MCCs was that someone on a PS3 was controlling it?
I've seen all the footage from EVE Vegas. I'm just putting some of my ideas out there. On that topic, what are your ideas for MCCs? This isn't just for my to stroke my ego. It's a forum for sharing ideas.

hmmm then it would get two thumbs up and an imaginary wax seal of knight's approval. *imagine a nice wax seal here, the kind with olive branches and a good serif font*
your Ideas for MCC mods are awesome, tbh I hadn't put any thought into how one would go about fitting and MCC and what they would need.
my ideas, the MCC pilot acts as the FC for the fight. they are set up in a map overview of the entire battlefield, they transition from a FPS to an RTS while piloting(sort of like BF4's commander mode). they can give squad orders drop support units like installation. they can also drop orbital bombardments if a squad leader isn't available or busy.

It would be nice to see that the MCC has more rol than just an spawn object, when you are inside it looks depressing, at least it could have like other post said a war room for tactical support in the battlefield or something else.
I don't think that moving the MCC would appear near in the future first it would need a much bigger map. It would be nice to purchase one at leas that the corp could buy one and use it on their matchs. But CCP never said if something like that would happen it was just a trailer. And must of Dust trailers you see things than aren't inside the game. |

Those XL turrets should never aim at anything but a vehicle capable of aiming at other vehicles able to use XL turrets. Otherwise, infantry and vehicles would be doomed. They should be lock on only. maybe a mini OB from them every once in awhile, but even then that's pushing it.

You misunderstand. My idea is that the high slots on an EVE piloted MCC could be filled with specific weaponry for area denial, specifically under the MCC and its immediate area.
My impression is that an XL turret (fitted to Dreadnaughts and Titans) is much larger than an MCC.

XL relative to the large turrets we have ingame already, presumably.
Happily printing ISK with permahardeners and MLT blasters.

MCCs are NOT meant to be capable of true space flight on their own. They board Warbarges to cross space.
And Warbarges were never set in stone as EVE-side assets - there has always been a possibility of them being handled by DUST players and piloted - even when traveling in EVE space - by DUST players. |
