So, I'm currently in callogi and I'm fed up with it so I've been saving up to go gallogi or minlogi. Based on my playstyle it seems the minlogi would suit me best as my rep tool gets some nice bonuses and I would be faster allowing me to stay closer to assualts with that 10m core focused. The increased hacking also allows me to nab those objectives faster allowing me less time in a vulnerable position. However, survivability has always been a problem for me. I'm always in too hot or getting ganged up on because I'm repping a heavy. Being a callogi I'm pretty squishy so if I grab a reddots attention I'm most likely dead. So, the gallente would be more favorable to that issue with the huge armor capabilities and I'd still be able to carry plenty of equipment.
Any logi vets out there care to share their thoughts?

Although I'm not a vet (I'm only at 6mos), I'd caution that the proposed logi bonus changes eliminate the hacking bonus. That said, I'm diehard Min logi, and the speed is so important to me that I only run Ferroscale unless I'm gluing myself only to a Heavy. Keep in mind also that the better Rep Tool range proposed for Minlogis should enable you to stay further in the cover a smart Heavy should be using anyway. The downside is, you're almost as squishy as a Callogi.
Sorry I can't help with Gallogi pros and cons. |

As said before, hold off for 1.8.
The main differences that will most likely stay post-1.8 are that the Ga lLogi will be slow and ultra tanky while the Min Logi will be a bit faster and more squishy. I'm not sure how fitting will play a difference, though to my knowledge the Gal Logi gets more PG/CPU, though I could be wrong.
As for me, even without a respec, I will be training for the Min logi due to that amazing repair tool bonus (granted the SiSi stats are accurate).

Not a vet by any imagination, but am a proto Min Logi. I would wait as others have stated for the 1.8 launch.
I'm min all the way and we are squishy. The speed is nice and has helped me in many occasions. I stack plates because shields just don't do as much for me. A good shield regulator however is really nice. I can't say much for the Gallogi since I haven't spec'ed into any of that. I love my EQ, especially my rep tools.
Since my proto min costs me 200k, I rarely ever take that bad@ss out. It's reserved for PC and FW. However, with my ADV min logi, I die 1-4 times per battle and still make a good profit. It really depends on my squad. I'm also usually kdr positive, but not always as that's never my goal. I'm support 100% of the time as a logi.
I'm excited for the bonus, sad that my auto reps are gone (which I think is really going to cut into that survivability rate) and sad that my hacking speed is gone as well, but *shrug* tears aren't going to help me now.

the way i see is is a bit like this..
Minmatar (balanced) a good all rounder for def/off. looks badass too.
caldari (offence?) perhaps more for fast moving shocktroop style play or go total shield buffer and use lows for speed/scan? downside is less equip slots. would probably need to use 2x proto repair hives and injector at proto or injector and proto rep hive befor you get 3rd equip slot.
amarr ( balanced/def/off) nice hp so great def for slayerlogi iirc. perhaps a little slow?
gallente (def/off) for teams which run armor buffer and dedicated logi(with reps) more squad related i believe and the pg/cpu use per level on their suits allow you to run cheaper suits with better equip. ( ps im a bittervet of eve so im bias against gallente) :P

FWIW, I'm also a cal logi, and I like that suit just fine -- even moreso now that I have a weapon (RR) whose range allows me to play into the strengths of shield recharging.
That said, I tihnk you should really wait until 1.8 drops before making any moves. And even then, I'd wait a week or three before spending any skill points. The new suits and bonuses will really change the way logi suits are fitted and used, and I would be wary of using skillpoints before that plays out a bit.
Hope this helps...Leadfoot (a 30M SP vet)
p.s. you might try putting a few damage mods on your high slots and a few basic plates on your low slots. The cal logi can be run very well as a dual tanked suit this way. |

Thanks for the advice so far.
Again, I will be saving my SP for sometime after 1.8 drops for the very reason Leadfoot10 mentioned (I also don't buy 1st gen electronics for this reason, lol).
I am curious to know what kind of cal logi you're running. Sounds like a slayer logi. I only have level 1 on caldari logistics and I find running a plate in my 1 low slot makes my slow logi even slower and doesn't make a difference against an RR or CR. With an armor rep I find more use. I can heal faster when I duck behind cover. As far as damage mods go i just don't care for them If I run them with my equip and everything I can only fit one enhanced anyway and I'm a support logi so i rarely have my gun out. |
