I love the sentiment, considering I'm one of the few newberries to migrate to the forum after so short a time in game. However, as this very post demonstrates, only 1/4 of the forum player base demonstrates compassion, understanding, for the newberry cause. Sportsmanship and honor is a lacking quality amongst these mercs, and will continue to be so till an over arching reason to play besides grinding sp/risk/ kills is introduced.
I of course, will be rolling standard gear, with an advance AR, as always. And yes I have proto gear, I got my duvolle this morning and have plenty state proto assaults.
To those of you have posted their desire to honor this agreement, I thank you, and encourage our to hold out. The desire to run protos will tear at you, but please refrain. Remember that week, remember the difficulties you may face running just standard gear, look at your kdr, and weep. And then remember that your standard suit is practicly as good as an advance, because of your skills. Remember that those newberries around you are not running in a 6 man squad.
Also, proto AVers, don't stop running proto AV. Tankers, and tank spammers, need to die. I feel bad for the real newberry who falls to your forge, but I pity more the 10 newberries who fall to that tank due to its indestructible nature in relation to the AV options available to newberries. And well, most tankers won't park their proto plaster madrugar for a match, never mind a week.

(but it is true) I'm surprised that ML has such a bad reputation (I personally never use proto suits in pub matches.) and I want to make clear that I'm not officially speaking for ML. This proposal is not an official ML one but a personal one from my side. I can not say if any of my corpmates will join me, but I hope so. Yes, I agree that it is upon CCP to improve the new player experience, but I think we as a community also can do something to make this game more fun for new players every once in a while. At least for as long as the NPE is not fixed. I don't think that this is too much to ask for. But I can also understand if people want to use this event to grind a ton of WP, so I have a new proposal: Lets try to keep at least one game mode, lets say pub Skirmishes, free from stomping.Maybe I was aiming too high with my first proposal, but I hope we can all agree on this one. Thanks.
From what I have seen it is not so much that ML actively tries to stomp, just that they are doing it incidently. The effect is still the same. There sheer number of your payers and their relatively high sp amounts causes your corp squads to regularly be OP. It does not seem to be intended, your just running with your corp mates, much as I do, but your members are more experienced andbetter equip, and done ttheir proto gear without a second thought, which is just the nature of most proto players. You also tend to have multiple corp squads running at one time which may result in que syncs without being intended. In MLs case it seems mostly to be a case of ignorance, then purposely stomping.
However the net effect is still the same, and without an active attempt to ch#nge the mindset of your members, it will continue. Unfortunately there also elements of your corp that do know their doing it, and enjoy doing so, as some of your own corp mates replies n this thread show.
I have squared with many proto stompers at various times, thou I tend to avoid such circumstances now, and they are in general decent enough folk. Competitive, hard working, enthusiastic players anyone would be glad to squad with for a match or two. That does not however make them sympathetic to newberries, nor make them acknowledge the effect their actions have, much as a common soldier thinks little of what colkatoral damage may occur from his mission, at least not at the time. Its leaderships job to make sure their common corpmate behaves in a befitting way, and lacking that guidance they will do as they please, and often remain ignoran of the concewuences of their actions.
This be fact begets a cycle in which proto stompers feel the need to proto stomp, weather it be in defence against other protos, or simply because they can, and they often do this without regard for others outside their corp, squad, friends, etc. The newberries who survive this feel the need to do the same, and feel justified because it is what they paid their dues dealing with, and often become jaded by this point.
In effect protostomping is somewhat like the cold war arms race. Each corp feels the need to field better and better equipment, and having this equipment they feel the need to use it, to test it. As it happens more often the players feel the need to do it more, to compete and fund their wars with the other power houses, and to improve their skills. Newberry pubs are like Korea and Vietnam, an inderect war against the other powerhouses. A way to increase their military power and status without having to engage the other military power houses directly too often. You grind your risk, your sp, and then field the equipment that is earned because you earned it, and because the other power houses did it.
The problem is there are no real lives at stake, and so the worth of a newberry is barely register. Y your common proto player, nor by the leadership of the larger corps. It was the value of human life that ended the arms race and stopped all out war during the cold war, with that value non existent, and no real risk involved, players use jier nukes (protos) without qualms, pubs and newberries are just he test subjects, income, and collateral damage.
Dust needs a Geneva convention.
