I think everyone agrees that districts are broken, once you have a district, it provides income, and you need nothing to sustain it except the ability to lock it.
I would like to see districts mimic POS mechanics. Instillations and structures have to be bought, positioned on the map, and can be destroyed.
So the first step to this would be installations like the CRU, Supply Depot, and Turrets. Which is something that the trailer gave us an impression would already be incorporated in the game.
The next step would be Cargo Hubs, Surface Research Labs, and Production Facilities, (hopefully they will add more structures), facilities which could be destroyed.
This would make it harder for the defender, because they would not be able to freely engage the enemy as they would have to actually defend structures and objectives from being blown up.
Further more it should cost or require resources to run these instillations and keep them producing, just as it does in EVE.

Ug... No.
POS (Player Owned Starbase) are not something we want to model any DUST system after. As someone who has managed their fair share of pos, I would not wish that torture on any DUST mercs. It is something EVE players have been asking to be scrapped and re-done for years. It hasn't yet because it would be a 'massive effort'.
Modeling systems in DUST after EVE systems is a great idea, lets just use the good systems and not the old broken horrible ones.

1. It could stimulate a player based economy 2. It would give DUST players a way to semi customize their district 3. It would change the broken isk farming that is currently on going 4. It would make it so if players didn't win the match and got slaughtered, they could at least inflict cost on the enemy, which again would benefit the market. 5. Some POS mechanics are broken, but FUEL and Resources to manufacture things, along with replacing structures in the POS that get blown up, those things are not broken. 6. It would make it so players could manufacture installations, dropsuits, and other things. 7. When you say WE are you speaking for the entire community that has yet to reply to this thread and the one who as already liked it?

Districts are more broken than a POS will ever be. |
