It's sad, but I'm hyped for the new artwork and models, and I really wanna see what the Gallente, Caldari and Amarr Logi are meant to look like.
If also like to see the Minmatar Assault.
So yeah, any chance?

Doubt it. If there are going to be different mode it won't be till like 3 years from now.

What would you think the differences between Logistics suits and Medium Frames should be? I think a larger backpack to hold the extra equipment slots for the Logistics would be best.

They aren't place holders though, that is what they are meant to look like.
The Minmatar Assault is literally stated to be a Minmatar Logi without the extra equipment slots and with less scan precision.

I think you guys are misinformed. The new Gallente, Caldari, and Minmatar HEAVY frames will be coming in 1.8. The current logi and assault suits will most likely only get tweaks to their stats. |

This.
The frame of the suit is called the "frame" because it's the base >.>. It would indeed be cool to have different looking suits for specializations but I doubt we will get those soon.

The Minmatar Assault is literally stated to be a Minmatar Logi without the extra equipment slots and with less scan precision. Not quite true. The original plan was for each class to get it's own unique modeling, but time didn't allow for this to happen so now we're on the color coding system with only a dismal chance to see new models far in the future. Of course, the description in-game will state as such. I mean, the Amarr Commando suit's description says something about how it maximizes efficiency out of armor and shield modules to match its current bonus, but that bonus is changing and thus so is the description. Descriptions are not that hard to change to fit what is actually presented in the game for the time being.

Minmatar Assault will look like Minmatar Logi minus the backpack. Vice versa for Gallente, Caldari, and Ammar.

I mean the Caldari And Amarr Assault are designed with the backpack, what does that mean for their Logi suits?

An easy way to seperate them would be give the logi a backpack and remove it from the assault... |

But the color coding is a good thing. Too bad that it isn't consistent.
Really, Logis with different colors allows for a "shoot the medic first" approach. Especially for snipers. If you just change the model, it's harder to distinguish them. |

I seriously doubt we will ever see any significant differences between the Frame and the Specialty suit.
This is much in line with EVE where the Tech II ships (Specialty Ships) are usually re-skinned versions of the Tech 1 ships (Basic Ships). There are of course a few exceptions, but I doubt they'll deviate from this precedent much.

One problem I'm having is that there's no way to even guess at what sort of modules a potential target is using without shooting them.
Is he wearing so much armour that I should try to avoid him, or packing a shitload of profile dampers?
Only one way to find out, so you may as well throw stealth and avoidance out the window. |

... Point your gun at him. Tells you how much hp and what suit they have.
Also I hope its like eve one day where each race has 20 base suits or so and then the tech 2/3 ships. But I always say that. |

Yip - hopefully that can come through the evolution of scanning equipment - a spotter tool / detailed dropsuit scanner which could scan single foes and give you a breakdown of their setup.
The very least we need which most other games have done - weapons being carried displayed on the model.

Good, they should already have those models too. Now e warfare suits, and drone suits and we can start getting the game back on track. |

thsta just it, commandos and pilots should have their own specific frames. not now, but at some point.
the commando isnt a heavy, it shouldnt have the same hit box. would imagine the pilot suit is probably bigger than the scout. speaking of which. wheres the command dropsuit? |

As it stamds their is no planned chamges to the looks of any currently deployed frames.
However I one day hope to see a point such that the modules you equip to a suit will subtlety change its appearance. Shield extenders will add additonal capacitors to your belt, or damage mods strap orange devices to your trigger arm. Kin Cats add green devices to your legs or Armour plates add just that.
Dampners change the look of your suit slightly and so on. I also hope to see visible differences between different specalizations of the same suit.
Assaults don't have a backpack, but the sidearm is shown strapped to the leg Logistics have a neocom overlay continously over there left arm
Sentinels have a visible armour enhancments like the sentienl from Mass Effect Commando's will always have both weapons visible, one holstered on back
Scouts will Neocom overlays on the helmet will look awsome.

The descriptions are also mostly bullshit. The assault suit is described as " the most versatile suit" on th+¿ battlefield. Which is not true, the logistic suit is. I would like to see a new suit design but honestly couldn't care when things like balance and functionality are still not ironed out. |
