I really want to find a good use for that thing, I really do. BUT WHAT CAN IT DO? It barely scratches vehicles, its dece on unsuspecting infantry, and it only shoots one before you reload.
Fortunately I have an Idea(s) for it to make it a usable weapon.
Tri shot- After charge up, it fires 3 consecutive blasts of plasma doing 800 damage each with a small blast radius so it is no abused on infantry.
Net Blast- Fires a single plasma blast that when descending, it splits into 3 small hard to see, separating plasma orbs that form a small triangle. When infantry walks over it, it slowly depletes their shields/armor up to 500 damage. But if a vehicle rides over it (up to 100 meters for low stalking dropships), the plasma trap shoots up exploding doing 1500 damage. Can be destroyed by destroying one of the orbs.
Fusion Blast- This one would fully focus on infantry. Once shot, upon impact with any surface, the shot would burst hurling molten plasma in every direction up to 3.5 meters doing 76 damage per second while standing in it. The plasma has a stick effect for anyone who was in the blast radius for 3 seconds. Direct impact would do 500 damage to the person it hit. As for vehicles, 500 direct damage is nothing, and the 76 damage/sec would be healed by the passive moduals.
Plasma Beam- Charges like a forge gun and can be held, but when fired, makes direct contact with what your aiming at (basically a light speed beam). This would do 800 damage and 540 splash damage. The blast radius would be 2 meters and the cannon would have 6 ammo in a magazine.

I would fully support any improvement to the Plasma Launcher that makes it function more like a Mortar System and less like an awkward and unreliable RPG.
The most OP weapon on the Dust Battle Field:
One good logi, one rep tool, and a heavy.

Since nerf of AV it's a pretty good weapon against vehicules because it wasn't nerfed. 1000 of damage is pretty good. Pretty good "burst" damage. You go in. Fire. => 1000 of damage. Triple AV => 1800 of damage. 2800 of damage in less than 2 sec. And if you had reload BEFORE throwing your AV you shoot a thirs time : 3800 of damage. If you're fast he didn't put his Hardener. Alone : 3800 of damage. A tank is not meant to be destroy alone. So.....
Stop thiking AV weapons are supposed to instant kill vehicules. |

Though you brought up a good point, none of my ideas say a single thing about an insta-kill. They are ideas to just most support other AV team members and do some damage to infantry. So i'll overlook the fact you didn't even try to understand what I was getting at. You ever see a team of people using Plasma cannons? No? ok then.

Stop thiking AV weapons are supposed to instant kill vehicules. Also, I would absolutely love watching you struggle to even attempt this. Even if you got close to destroying it, they would drive off. And I don't know about you, but I use a tactic where I don't destroy a vehicle. You damage it enough, the person tries to run, he hits a wall, panics, jumps out, you kill him, Free tank.

As it is right now, the plasma cannon is physically unable to destroy an Armor Tank that has 2 armor reppers. This is because the Placon only does ~200 DPS, there needs to be something done. The Placon needs to behave in a more Gallentean manner. So, high DPS in a short period of time. Make it do 3000 damage per shot. This will drop armor tanks in 3 shots(12 seconds), and a shield tanks in 2(6-7 seconds). This is balanced, considering the high skill requirement, and proximity to HAVs needed to use this weapon as an AV weapon.
