I've been playing for nearly a year, and tonight I was put into an ambush match with a couple minutes left that my team was clearly losing to a bunch of HAVs.
Therefore, I dicked around emptying my ammunition and grenades on some random heavy with an HMG that was also dicking around way behind the frontline.
In response, I got not only my very first hatemail, but five.
The result:

Reply: And...?

Message: fight the enemy assface
Reply: Who is "Yurself"?

Subject: fu
Message: stop throwing grenades at friendlies ******* we will hunt u down
Reply: Because grenades hurt you *so much* in a pub match.

Message: YOUR DEAD FOR THROWING FRAGS AT TEAM MATES! U HAVE BEEN WARNED
Reply: I should be as dead for throwing grenades at my teammate as my teammate was for having grenades thrown at him/her. Which is to say... not at all. A better plan would be to drop a nanohive on me if I do it again around you. Then, you get more WP. But that would require that you have any idea what game you're playing.

Never got hatemail, nor do i ever write them. Instead I write words of graditude such as, "Thanks for the back-up, needed that cover" I also recicved one saying thank you for helping out the squad, nice victory!

Sadly, I have yet to receive any hate mail that was not sent as charity, as I am not good enough at this game to qualify for hate mail.

Any day I get hatemail is a good day. I got it much more often in MAG. I've been called a hacker once or twice in that game.

Not that its exceptional I can think of a great deal of the "Death to my seed" comments or the "Get back in the Kitchen" ones. But this one really just shows the low level of aesthetic appreciation of a great kill. I was on the exterior highway outside the city and pure luck but I saw a slight glimmer at the other end of the road. I pause....Zero and cut out 1 missile................+60 Kill head shot! I smile and roll on. Post game I see Longest Kill 212M .......Nice rite...1 shot 200M missle kill.
Enter the hate mail.
Troll "Really ....Really....you have 0 skill ....next time jump out and fight like a man"
Lady J "Your breaking my heart a$$wipe; you realize I shot you from 200 meters away...with one shot......how is that 0 skill?"

Isn't any redberry KOS for the enemy team, and any blueberry FF in pubs a futile prospect?
I love how empty threats are in this game. All talk and talk and no possible way to back it up in the first place.
Better to save your strength for something that makes a difference... or better yet save your emotion for pretty much anything that isn't DUST 514. |
