I think the most logical conclusion to CCP's apathy in inaction for PC locking is really a social experiment. "Can humans get along"
Hypothesis: If given the opportunity Molden Heath will choose non violent, uniting methods to share wealth among all citizens.
Players can own all land and share all the wealth generated from these lands. The corps that are greedy and in a constant state of discontent are the corps not locking the districts. They want to persuade others to follow suit so they can steal all the land. The corps can choose peace or war. But because of the nature of distrust corps will lock. Corps could exist in a pure successful utopia...if "humans can get along".
-Perhaps my corp has got the game all wrong. Locking districts is the method to use to stop the aggressive, neanderthal, and greedy corps from the utopia that is possible among sophisticated species. Renegade alliance, perhaps we are the broken mechanic in PC. If we would not attack no one would lock and everyone would have billions of isk.
Are we the greedy capitalist in a scenario where a professor is teaching a class the reason for the fact that there will always be poor and disenfranchised?
It is all working as intended and we need to evolve. |

Would you like to know how players can afford to lose 100 prototype suits in Faction Warfare? I 'll give you a hint...read the OP. Your miltia vs my proto a couple matches and you may begin to care. Many players do not understand this. If your not in a big PC corp, or a small one locking districts. Your isk will dwindle and you'll leave the game. Or buy aurum stuff.

But I thought it was BPOs ruining the economic balance, not locked districts hemorrhaging millions of isk. Lesson learned I guess. Doesn't CCP have a financial advisor who watches over the economy? I wouldn't let him handle my jewels.

I train new guys. I doubt we will ever do PC. my corp is small and we send off the few who donot quit dust to other corps. Perhaps if you cared more about the game than one tiny part of it you would make a difference. PC might be a great way to make isk but the guys I get don't know what isk is yet. |

Any attempts to fix the current war decking exploits will fail. People are smarter than the system. CCP can make it harder like limiting how often the same corp can attack the same district (people then rotate attacking to get around it), people who don't attack could forfeit all the clones (then corps would send in one person to goof off or suicide enough to trip the limit), an attack que could be added so corps are inline to invade (defenders just stack attacks in advance or in ways a hostile attacker will fall on bad days).
Someone else already pointed out long ago we're going to be stuck with these problems until Dust warfare can follow a persistent universe model.
My thoughts on it is we could bridge daily timer model and the persistent model. For a lack of a better name calling it a Two-Stage-Escalating-Invassion.- Covert Demolitions Assault (Quasi Persistent Universe model): Any group at anytime can decide they want to start an invasion by making a contract. The match starts between 60 minutes to 1 hour 59 minutes later. The attackers objective would be to destroy some kind of Installation involving a PDG (Planetary Defense Gun). Have features like a PC battle but lower hurdles to initiate. Territory isn't lost or gained.
- If the attacking force wins they may select one of the defenders daily timers available that week. If during the day more than one attacking force wins daily trimmers are first come first served.
- Regular Planetary Conquest battle (Daily Timer model)
- If there there is a conflict with a continuing PC match the new attacker has the option of picking a different daily timer or getting to attack within one hour after the conflicting match.
With slavish effort corps will still be able to make it extremely difficult to attack districts. However a persistent attacker will be able to force a battle.

EVE has an honest to god economist, like degree in following and understanding fluctuating economies. I am not sure if he is working with DUST though. The limited interaction between players, the relatively low cost of everything, and no way for the market to make any kind of progress means that the economist really doesn't need to be in the game. If you have 30 million and are ISK stable with what you run, then having 500 million doesn't mean anything to you. In this game, a Surplus of 10 suits is as useful as a surplus of 10 thousand. |

It truly is mindblowing nothing (or very little) has been done at this point.
Fix the exploit. This would mean you can't lock districts with a profit. Remove passive ISK generation. This would mean there wouldn't be an incentive to lock districts (maybe except on holidays etc, but then it would cost them ISK, which is ok with me tbh).

Agreed. I have 40 mil and fluctuate around it. Of course I only run advanced unless in PC or FW. Although during the Black Friday event I bought 1000 proto fits for 70% off. For those occasions when I need to fight fire with bonfire.

The idea that 30 million and 500 million have little difference is unknown to me. Factional warfare...If you play 10 games and lose an average of 5 suits a game that cost 200,000 isk (the price of many prototype setups) that is 10 million a day your losing. That 30 million runs dry very quickly. I know a great player who left because he ran out of isk. He didn't want to run anything but proto. Because FW was so popular in order to play with his friends he went into the deep red with every game.
PC is where isk is generated, everyone needs to either district lock or stop fighting so we all can have enough isk.
