I would quit.
My character is the only thing connecting me to this fail of a game.
That and the community, but it doesn't have enough of a hold on me.
And yeah it might help new players for now, but once the new players level up themselves?
You will have to do a reset yearly, that solves nothing.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

You want to reset on a regular basis to give new players that come in later a chance?
CCP is smart enough to know that reseting would kill the community.

no. I just want to talk about useless stuff like the rest of GD. there is really no agenda here.
Think of what it would do to PC corps or PC in general. Proto stompers would cry the most, maybe quit. cat merc would.
What excuse would CCP have to withhold the player market? They could structure the economy anyway they wanted if it was reset.
IT would be glorious and terrible. |

I actually probably could handle a reset because I've played games for so many years, it would just be like making a brand new file for something like Borderlands and getting rid of the main one. If they did one, would I be kind of ugly at loosing all the stuff I've accumulated? Yeah I suppose so, but it wouldn't be the worst thing. The main problem I could see with it right now is just multitudes of people (probably wouldn't actually be multitudes as we'd loose a ton more people) turning to MLT tanks.

I will post with my main some time in April. Some GMs don't care if your having a bad day. Some believe in the letter of the law and some can see you are just frustrated. I was used to being able to speak my mind, I guess I went a little too far. |

I think CCP made a big mistake when they didn't do a full character wipe from closed to open beta, but at this point there is no point and no turning back. |

It's really not necessary. PVE should be the next thing they work on and release to help ease new players in and give them a stomp free place to practice.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind. While we'll lose our millions of skill points, we'd level the playing field. We can train the new players up as we train ourselves and be a fairly good equal force. However, there better be some way to justify it, such as opening up the star map/null sec dramatically, and giving every corp a home district that can be attacked regularly, but can't be lost. Just spitballing here, haven't thought this out fully, but it would have to be worth it, or were playing the same game in another year.

In some ways it would be good to have a reset every so often, but there would have to be some sort of system that rewards you based on how far you got within the span of time between resets, and it would have to be INSANELY good to make it worthwhile, which means crazily OP. Which means game breaking. Which means it'll never be done without ruining the game one way or the other.
As irritating as his terrible grammar was..... I'm starting to miss Mr. Zitro.....

I think a full reset would decimate the community, however, a free or paid respec, so that those of us who have spent a while trying different approaches would, I think, be a good idea. |
