After playing DUST since E3 build and over time learning about the races and coming to understand their technological affinities and how they reflected my own personality and tactics...AND in the light of the infantry overhaul bringing more racial verisimilitude from EVE...ANDDD with the revamped Faction Warfare...could we please get to choose our race again?
I see it every time I log into DUST, this caldari avatar that represents me in New Eden and it's not the race I would have chosen had I had the knowledge of lore and racial tech and gameplay mechanics. FW shouldn't just be about the LP, I#d like to think that people get involved because they've cast their die in with one of the factions and wan't to fight for the honor and glory of their race. I know there are others who have this, I've seen it in the forums.
This change would affect nothing else than our visual representation at the login screen and forums but it would really nice to be either Gallente or Minmatar (they are 50/50 right now, I like em equally so haven't decided) but I'm stuck with this ugly Caldari dude.
I know I know...'you live with your decisions'...but give us this one off, to coincide with the introduction of the racial suits so that we can take pride in our avatar would be nice.

I can see your point...when I join, what say 5 months ago... I had never heard of this game and just stuck it on and ended up just being Caldari....Lucky I like there way of thinking.... Massive Corps taking over planets with massive building, makes me think of BladeRunner...
Back to point..... I think it could be nice for new player to get more information at the start

Yeah I would have gone with Minmatar I think. Now I'm stuck with this though. What I skill into will represent my preference, my avatar won't.

It would be nice to at least buy a new merc quarters. I like the Gallente Faction, and suits, but the Merc quarters is just plain boring. I think that once they hammer out more in terms of the FPS, they will start to look more into sandbox game (and hopefully a chance to buy new/decorate our merc quarters).
The most OP weapon on the Dust Battle Field:
One good logi, one rep tool, and a heavy.

I know your problem, I'm stuck with this awful Amarr profile but it's the race I hate most! I'm an atheist in real life and my character is of the most religious faction! |
