i have only been playing maybe 2 weeks now and all i really see is Stationary turrets being popped with out any attempt to be taken at all at the start of a round just to pad their points...
my suggestion would be give them more hp 2x probably if not more, and make them invulnerable to attack untill they are actually hacked for the first time.
doing this would possibly make controlling them rather strategic but the drawback is your vulnerable to attack while you are operating the turret anyway.
possable 2x modifier to forgegun and/or remote explosives and/or Plasma cannon received damage meaning you gotta send in the troops to make it safe before you ROFLSTOMP with tanks and cause tears with dropships.

I'll bump this because I agree with turrets playing an actual role in the game. |

also they need to fix hacked turrets attacking neutral turrets and make neutral turrets immune to damage to stop people popping them JUST for points insted of hacking them

Their not getting popped so people can "pad their wps" it's a major killer to vehicles. Especially the rail turrets. Caldari ftw. Which brings me to my real topic at hand. We WERE supposed to be able to skill into and purchase turrets to call into the battlefield. There used to be a section on the market place also an option where you elect call vehicle call orbital strike. Not only would this be a huge tactical advantage but you skill into/purchase bigger better turrets. Again tactical advantage. It is however that CCP has other things to deal with. So turrets are prolly gonna stay as are for a while now

err yes they are, soon as people spawn they kill them with remote charges or vehicals with out even bothering to hack them. and they arnt a major destroyer of vehicals its the tank jockeys who are the major anti vehical units on the field. and due to the turrets beign squishy and mostly useless that is what leads to being redlined alot.

This has been brought up a lot, and it's not going to change. If we've learned anything by now it's that CCP isn't listening to our concerns.
That being said, I too hate it when people wipe out the turrets for no reason other than to get 100 points. The best thing to do would be to make them worthless to destroy unless they're under the control of the opposing team. 0 points for destroying unclaimed turrets would encourage people to hack them for the 50... Just adding HP to the turrets would just stall the douche bags, but it wouldn't stop them. |

Nothing worse than retreating with modules on cooldown when suddenly that railgun that was once blue is now destroying you.
Today I played one match, hopped inside a railgun installation, and destroyed a Gunnlogi with a particle cannon. Needless to say, that installation got destroyed later. My point is to never underestimate the power of turret installations. I've been able to destroy many tanks that didn't know what they were doing even with a blaster installation.
Even if you give no WP for neutral installation destructions, we will still blow them up because they are effective. Leaving a neutral turret installation intact for your blueberries to hack might just be your downfall.

Keep in mind that the intention later on is to allow you to fit your own installations and drop them in on command (the specifics of this mechanic have not been discussed in detail however)
That being said, what we probably have dropping in are un-fit Installations, which seem to pop about as easily as an unfit HAV. I would love to see well fit installations turning into bastions of defense, rocking massive defensive and offensive power.
But until then, I expect the squishy ones to remain.
