Flying a dropship and in many maps the turrets on opposing sides are close enough that from the enemies red line, they can hit you behind you red line. Personally 2,000m is a bit much for a missile turret.
Is this by design or just something left un-updated over time? Seems like this was maybe from the days when Missile Installation could be used to hit the MCC and aid in its destructions. Now days its used to hit DS super far over.
Can we tune this down a bit.

2 km for a missile installation that size is actually vanishingly small.
An M270's small missiles have ranges in excess of 30 km.
A hellfire missile can hit targets 5 km away.
This is the future, people. Get with. |

I'd have no problem with it if we had the entire map to fly around in, but a turret that can basically hit the entire playing area and go up into space is a bit much for the current state of the game.

I find my dropship fears railguns, and missiles only when they're up close. you must take into account that missiles are far slower than railguns, and therefore are much easier to avoid the further out you get. |

Wait until we get laser turrets. Dropships will learn to fear the deathbeams I think...

Not a big wuss for me... the recoil (!?) prevents all rockets from hitting the target at mid-long distances.

Since this is the future, won't all dropships come with anti-missile missiles?
All turrets should be converted to firework launchers.

I honestly think that all missiles should have such range. I mean, there's quite a bit of travel time to factor in, even when you're just at a couple hundred meters.
I still remember the days when I can sit on one side of Manus Peak and barrage infantry on the other side. And back then missiles were much slower. You could see them coming and dodge them in time. If you didn't see them, your fault you were killed by a missile from across the map.

I'm an ADS pilot and I kindof like the presence of missile installations.
Personally, I think there should be an AA variant of normal missile turrets that have little splash but that kind of range.

Sure, not saying they are dangerous but someone on the turret can keep spamming it far out and still hit you.

It's not the range, it's the turret AI that's OP. Get rid of all turret AI.
@Hoover Damn Then large missiles need that range as well without damage drop off.

when I come into tis topic I think the point is large missile turret on tanks are too short o.o anyway it is too short Ican't even hit something 200m from away from me THAT STUPID
