Went to dump some SP looking to get into a mid-tier LAV...but after looking at the specs on the Saga and the Saga-II I can't find anything different between them except 19,000 ISK. Same PG/CPU, same base ehp, shield regen, slot layout, etc.

Saga-II has a built in shield hardener (I think)

Skill requirements. You need to be smarter in order to drive the more expensive LAV.
No, but really they Saga-II used to have a much better shield regen and a blueprint hardener i think, but now i'ts basically just a copy of the Saga-I. |

Wasn't the Saga-II originally a test item that accidentally got released?

The saga II comes with a free aurum missile turret and a inbuild shield hardener which consumes 0PG+0CPU. Which means you can put a heavy shield extender on it and have the hardener at the same time.
I shall show you a world, a world which you cant imagine, a world full off butthurt n00bs at the other end of my gun

Thanks!
Does the hardener take up one of the two high slots? Or are they both free and the hardner is "bonus"? |

Yes, you are correct. This was our first example were they tested theories (high resist / long cool down) of what they eventually put in to place in 1.7. We just did not know it at the time. |

On the face of it, there aren't any immediate differences: http://dust.thang.dk/showgearcomparison.php?gear=351252,355772,356841,356842,363354,365428,366509
That said, a look here and here shows that the Saga-II has a default-module, the Reactive Deflection Field I , which is in a hidden High Slot.

Thanks man, I did reference your site before asking actually, which is part of what confused me. The rhcloud.com link you posted, though, shows it in a Visible High Slot - little bit of a bummer. I was hoping to still have two open high slots. Either way, if that module really doesn't take up any PG/CPU, the extra $19,000 goes for the ability to have a shielded, hardened, armored, and weaponized Saga. Interesting. |

Yeah, my site doesn-¿t really deal with "default" or "hidden" slots :)
Also, for some reason the glyphs on Grit's site are messed up when I look at them.
