I rammed a python twice with my gorgon. Both times he was on fire with 0 armor and flew away. I then LANDED an orbital on him. Killed his 2 gunners he dropped to 0 armor and flew away. What the ****??? |

That's funny, because when my Python romantically caresses another ship, I just lose all hp and spontaneously combust.
From appearance, the VTOL craft looks like it could do a bit a nug sing without serious harm, and then I could have sworn I have hit the ground harder than another ship.
The worst part is I have been playing less as learning to fly an ADS requires a lot of grinding, and that has definitely affected the desire I have to play.

It's a good thing. It gives the pilots a chance to survive, which is hard to come by these days with all the tanks roaming around &/redline camping.

If it wasn't for the very occasional Rail gun installation, or the railgun tanks you ADS pilots would be running this game. It is the only thing that truly counters ADS pilots right now.
Swarms - laughable, had their range cut in half, lost dps. They dont seem to do much to a ADS unless its a stupid pilot that sits around.
Forge guns - they can work against some dropships. Though I have put an entire clip of forge into some derpships and they just shrug it off. Usually the gallente ADS.
Also I have been in a tank and put 4-5 railgun rounds into a gallente ADS and it still flew away and shrugged off the damage. There are balancing issues all over this game that need to be addressed. I dont want you guys nerfed but at the same time you cant complain when your stomping spree is countered. |

There is room for a repper on a Python? I have twin complex power upgrades just to fit shields, an afterburner and a prototype missile launcher. I now have 5 mil in Pythons and most of that is in fitting skills just to squeeze things on to it.
I don't see how ADS are causing any more grief than a skilled infantryman with a rifle. My best match was 23/0 and I still ended up in the bottom half of the war points and I was shocked the reds stood in nice little bunches for me to kill. Most matches I get less than a dozen kills, dodging constant rail and forge fire and losing mountains of money. I'm doing far better running a standard scout with knives for this challenge and certainly making more money.
As for surviving orbitals when you see one inbound you kick on the afterburner and pray. Being able to go over 200 kph helps.

Protip: non mlt av weapons are pretty good. Breach forges can practically one shot most dropships, assault forge guns are very threatening, swarms are great with 2+ people shooting, plc's can flip a ds right upside down. |

I've noticed the same thing whenever I nail a dropship with < 10% hp remaining with a rail, it pretty much sits at 0 zero hp (even with repeated hits) for about 5 seconds before exploding. Where's the 5 sec grace period for LAV/Tank pilots? |
