Either way, my point still stands, once AV is buffed or hardeners are nerfed or limited to 1 per fit, we can balace railguns and/or redline rails, til then, no, we don't need tank and ADS spam being even worse than it is. If you're not a horrible tanker who is just god awful at DUST, you already know how to roll quickly forwards and backwards to combat dropships already. All railguns need is slightly more elevation to make this a very deadly tactic for a skilled tanker, which is what we should be rewarding: skilled players, not talentless nobodies who can't leave their redline to save their life. If dropships were I win buttons, you would see FAR more of them as opposed to redline rail tanks But, you don't, because they aren't. They actually take skill to operate effectively. Tanks can't roll fowards and backwards anymore to fight back, as dropships can hover far above you not having to worry at all due to missle range buff, if that old tactic still works you're pilot is straight up garbage, ANY HALFWAY-DECENT pilot is going to be 100m above you, laughing as he easily hits every shot on you no matter what. But ADS's requires skill? HAHAHA thats a good one. I've yet to see a skilled pilot on this game. Sure some have had the SP for the ships, a couple have pulled off the circlcling above nose down vulture kills on forges, but I have YET to see a skilled pilot. As for general non braindead tactics required to never lose an ADS, that easy as hell and common. If you don't think ADS are spammed, go play ambush. Ok Pothead, you really must be high right now, because missile turrets DIDN'T get a range buff, infact, they got a range NERF. The Accelerated Missile Launchers (which no longer exist now) had the increased range, but now they are gone, we are stuck with the standard range of XT Launchers. And what Dust Fiend means by "roll back and forward" reffers to the dodging tactic tanks do when they are shot at by ADS ships, and they do it a lot in THIS BUILD.
And what exactly dictates a "skilled pilot" to you, if being able to orbit forges WHILE HITTING THEM and not being taken down by dodging their shots isn't a skilled pilot? Honestly man, have you ever even skilled into an assault dropship, are you seriously claiming that we never lose an ADS because of "braindead" tactics? You must have smoked like, 20 bowls or something before you wrote this. |
