I'm just wondering how would cloaking work and If any could let me know. In the instance that no one knows here's what I think could happen.
So, will there just be invisible scouts running around or when the cloak is activated the scout will be cloaked so long as the target is within the scouts cloak field? For instance lets say the cloak has a default 80 meter radius and anyone within 80 meters of the scout can't see the scout unless the scout fires, runs or is picked up by a scanner. Ways to counter cloaking would require you to increase your suits scan radius and scanning skills. So lets assume the target player has a scan radius of 15 meters, if the target turns around he should be able to see the scout 15 meters from him if his suit is able to pick the scout up. The scan radius on a prototype Ammar assault with maxed skills using 3 complex range amps is 38 meters precision is 28db with complex enhancers. An assault suit like this would pick up a maxed Gallente scout that isn't using profile dampeners. But that is totally unrealistic so who would be wearing suits to pick up other scouts well other scouts of course.
Minmatar scouts will become hunters and this is why they have the melee bonus. A Minmatar can have a scan precision of 26.77 db and a scan profile of 30.37 db and a Gallente scouts max scan precision is only 32.4 which means the Gallente scout cannot see the Minmatar scout unless a scanner is used or the cloak is broken from shooting or running. I believe this is also why Gallente have scanners in there LP store. With that said I think that the minmatar scout will be the best at cloaking and they will have a high slot reserved for melee damage bonus making them perfect for cloaked shanks.

Even maxed out as a scout your melee is now 100.
Good luck punching a proto heavy 18 times to take him down. Using myrofybril only makes you weaker as you give up shielding for it. If you want the mike tyson KO ability, go commando instead.
The place where minjas shine is using knives.
You need NK Skill LV 5, NK Proficiency LV 5, and M scout Lv 5 to truly shine. You can slash a proto heavy 3 times and take him down pretty quickly. You'll also want biotics Lv 5 straight through to LV 5 kincats and card regs. Speed is going to be your biggest friend.

Well considerign CCP has hinted that cloaks will be a Beach to fit even with the scouts 50% reduction to fitting of cloaks, I have a feeling most scout suits fit with cloaks are going to be all gank fit. Heck because the more you move while cloaked the easyer you are to see, being speed fit and cloak fit will likely be counter productive. |

The cloak field doesn't have a "range" stat.
While it's active, the cloaked suit - whether Scout or not - is close to invisible from any range.
There will be a "shimmer" effect which is present even when the cloaked suit is still, but this will become more visible while the suit moves, with a further increase when sprinting. It isn't confirmed, but CCP have said they're considering the possibility of reducing this effect, or at least the impact of movement on it, for Scouts.
The cloak has a charge level which drains while the cloak is active, and firing any weapon will cause it to drain faster. Yes, this means some weapons may allow several shots without breaking cloak, though there will be limits - the devs confirmed a Sniper Rifle shot will instantly decloak the shooter.
As for how to counter it, cloaked enemies won't be completely invisible, so if you're aware, you'll be able to see them, and the crosshairs will still turn red when you're on-target. Scanners will still light up a cloaked player on your minimap, although the cloak is meant to hide the HUD marker, so unless Scanners negate that particular advantage, you'll still rely on actual observation when trying to hit a cloaked target. |

Increase in melee for scouts was mentioned as a change in the blue tag frenzy. Up to 120 from memory, so 150 for a fully skilled mini scout, or equivalent to a heavy. |
