Matchmaking at its current state is still as bad as it was during uprising release. That's been 8 months of waiting for further improvements to frustrating prototype pub stomps, the new tank spam, and the good old blue berries who have no idea what they are doing (or they just don't care once they see a full team of PC corps and just hang back till the match is over). Give players more of an options and freedom to move around this things much like the eve pilots. Let us choose our battle grounds by choosing our own contracts for Public.
Public matches should have a system where you can choose the contract which is pretty much a lobby system battlefield uses and join the match that way. Maybe even have each Contract vary in the payout according to how much gear is use in the battlefield. For example: if a team of prototype PC players are joining the field and destroying everything, the price for the contract to defeat them should go up and this might give players an incentive to join those public matches with similar skill levels. Heck Give players a Rank which will give you the average skill level of all the players in that current match.
Metal gear online did something where every player earns levels according to your own skill level. Each player that's involved in the battle will effect the overall skill level of the match (by having higher skill levels in the battle the ISK should go up). Higher level means higher rewards, while lower levels still make profits but not nearly as much as those more fierce battles. This will attract more players to the similar skill levels by adding a War Price to the game and give players a chance to stay in similar skill levels.
Factional should remain as it is and this really needs Mass Team Deploy ASAP. |

I definitely agree that matchmaking needs serious work, but I strongly disagree with your proposal for increased ISK rewards, for two reasons. One, players are already rewarded (at least in theory) higher ISK and SP payouts for killing players with better gear, as indicated by the meta level of the gear. Two, high-level players don't need more ISK from pub matches. The reason they're running Proto suits in the first place is because they make massive amounts of ISK in Planetary Conquest. I maintain that the obvious solution to matchmaking is the character's total SP.
I need a break from Dust! I'll just go hop on the forums...

Factional should remain as it is and this really needs Mass Team Deploy ASAP. Essential I have this idea in my head that in Dust 514 we are Mercenaries. And Every Mercenary has a Reputation (Mercenary Level which reflects our skill level) higher the reputation the higher the rewards for competing in more fierce battles. By having a General Skill rank for players and a options to either join Quick match or search each contract that is available with the information of the average mercenary level (skill level) as well as the War price for winning that battle would be ideal in such a universe and balance for most players.
Of course you will get those High level trolls who just wanna demolish everyone but than the war price goes up for that battle because that one difference in Mercenary level bring incentive for other players of higher level to jump in which will slowly change the battlefield from a low price skirmish to a fierce High price War zone. |

When players of similar skill levels meet generally the amount of deaths increase on both sides. Which means prototype gear will be lost in the battle which even with a War price your probably still losing ISK in the end, which the PC funds will come in handy for that. But the increase in ISK payout is not only incentive for the stronger players but gives awareness for newer players to avoid those higher level battles. This will allow a mini PC battle if you will to occur while gives players an option to avoid massive crushing defeats to players they should not be facing.. Many players i meet just turn off their game once they meet devastating forces over and over again because they have no freedom in the game to avoid those types of discouraging beat downs. Giving players the freedom to choose their battles is more what this post was about. |
