...and that I'm the worst player in Dust 514. That being said, I'm going to ask a stupid question about core skills: When the description talks about increasing efficacy, does that mean that unless you have a module equipped, the bonus doesn't apply, or does every suit have some inherent ability in all areas, and even without a module, you're getting some kind of boost? I feel like I have seen it both ways in my experience, and I'm too lazy to troll about for what may or may not be a definitive answer.
If this question causes you pain, good. Weakness just left your body.

So, since scouts can't equip any modules, core skills in modules are a waste of time and SP, right?

Correct. Take off your scout suit and put on these flannel pajamas, your Lumberjack stat will go up 20%

probably a troll post but hey..
any skill that raises efficiency in a module or item add the + % bonus to the item.. so if you add skill points into say assault rifle efficiency you then get a % damage bonus per level. so your gun does more damage
if you put it into say engineering or electronic for suits you would then get a increase in the amount of power grid or CPU available to fit modules. that way you have more PG or CPU to fit better equipment.
for other equipment it reduces the requirements to fit the item, or makes the item work better.
the way to look at it is.. once you figure out what role you like to play, you then place skill points into areas that improve your stats for that play style.
like to play a assaulter... then you skill into gun and suit of choice, shields or armor skills for better survivability depending on race. etc. |

Next question:
How many points would it take to max out all the "Naked suit" upgrades? That is, the upgrades that improve your stats even if your wearing no modules and wielding no specific weapons or gear?
I promise I'm almost done.

6.5 million, give or take a few hundred thousand, and you have everything except access to specific weapons, mods, equipment, and suits. Theoretically, your racial base suits would be as effective as can be made without specializing, but you're stuck with their supplied gear. Same goes for MIL fits, I'd suppose, but then your spending ISK, and who wants to do that?
Your base shields are maxed, armor too. You can hack 25% faster than startup. CPU/PG are up 25% over startup.
Man, I'm going to have a lot of SP left over when they respec me.

You know, using supplied gear on the free suits, you don't even need the CPU/PG upgrades. Bonus!
