This is one thing that confuses me greatly about these forums. Plenty of devs comment on posts in General Discussion, some of these posts are even completely un-needing of a dev response, but Feedback/Requests is practically a ghost town for Devs, with only 1 dev reply to a topic in around 4 pages of topics, and a lot of these topics are actually really interesting.
It's not a huge gripe or anything, I just don't understand why there isn't more dev replies in that thread since it's one of the most crucial in understanding how Dust is working/needs to be changed. |

It's a bit perplexing, I see. But at least we're seeing Dev posts more often. Better than none at all.
OK, CCP. When are knives finally going to be improved?

Good question!
They do read it to jog things loose in their heads.
Just replying in those areas is going to result in one of two mind sets.
'Dev promised my idea would come to fruition'
or
'Developer said my idea was so horrible I should stop posting'
In this case the developers wish neither of these on the community because it generates usually a higher amount of upsetness and causes people to be hesitant to post there anymore.
They still read it though.

If they just be very clear that a) no promises and b) why the idea does not work then both mindsets can be solved and we can start having better discussion.

Considering the way some of the posters act? They will never get better if you continue to treat them that way, though. And also it is just that, "some posters."

So basically they are catering to people who are too young to even be playing.
That is some soft cupcake rubbish mate, if kids want to hype and assume over data then let them, fk em lol.
Is there no way GM's can instantly lock hyped assumption threads?
Ps hype about hyping lol.

It all comes down to the fact that only "some" people would get hurt because a dev said their idea is too unrealistic, etc. I don't think by replying to topics on a forum their playerbase is going to fall/rise significantly either way. The people on these forums are already dedicated players because they are on the forum! lmao, so Developer feedback & honesty belongs in Feedback/Requests, and i wish we would see more of it. |

I see no reason why this would be different. Player posts feedback thread in GD. Devs respond. Player posts feedback thread in F&R. Devs respond.
Why would people get more upset if devs responded in F&R? It's not a case of it 'doing more harm than good' - wherever devs post, people are going to react. It seems absurd that devs only seem to respond to threads in GD that have the same content as the F&R ones.
