So I always sort of thought the whole "cloaking" thing was a rumor....turns out, its a reality.
I have a lot of questions and concerns about it...same as everyone else. Cloaked mercs will be camping absolutely everything....but its also hilarious to think about.
Imagine EVERYONE is cloaked and there's not an enemy in sight lol the whole game is people running around looking for each other cloaked.
That's going to be funny lol
Plus, imagine the possibilities with remote explosives....Michael Epic, Chances Ghost....be afraid lol be very afraid ;) |

Shimmer effect says hi.
Even while cloaked, you won't be entirely invisible.
Also, time limit and cooldown say hi. You'll have a limit on how long you can stay invisible for before spending time visible while the cloak recharges. |

If everyone is cloaked everyone will be a easy target for with my scanner. (flux's if i'm in proto in PC, and PLC once the Gal commando comes out)
Cloaked campers will be easy kills with their lower HP to allow the cloak and again scanner.

We won't know until it gets in the players hands. But I won't be cloak camping personally. My plans are to use the cloak to escape enemy engagements that are not in my favor. Or to draw the enemy in, then break LOS, activate cloak, & flank enemy for the kill. |

I'm going to sit cloaked on top of enemy HAVs, or dance around Heavies, and once we get Proxy chat start following mercs around saying "Ooohhh aaahhh.... I'm a ghoooost" through my mic until they break down and die from fear.

The battlefield will be so scary with rampant cloaks. It will be like being back in Silent Hill or something if you're wandering inside the cities.

I predict that the first few days into 1.8 the battles will be filled with non-scouts trying and failing to scout with their fancy new cloaks and logistics will be trying to squeeze a cloak into their fit. With the 'scary' fitting requirements we may see cloaks on a few other suits that are totally defenseless and used mainly as LOLfits. After the resulting bloodbath and frustration most will return to their normal routines. The scouts will figure out how to make them effective and the scanner crowd will figure out how to deal with them.
Oh, and don't forget the cries of "I put all my SP into Complex Cloaking and I want a respec because it's crap!"

You're right about that lol I won't be putting any SP into it I don't imagine...because honestly, cloaking is a wussie move. Its just like redline sniping or tanking or any of the rest of the things these wussy players do.

I doubt anyone but scouts will be able to effectively cloak.

I hope cloaks are more than overpowered. Let the Scouts get their well deserved revenge on everyone. Then once everyone has gone Scout gimp the cloak and screw everyone over! Bwhahahahahahaha!!!! |

What's to be concerned about? It'll just force my Medic Alt to give up the needle or hives for a mandatory active scanner. Eve Online has a great multitude of fitting options with only a fraction that are worth using.
