The edge of the minimap is at 100 m. I tested that by finding where I was in relation to a null cannon when the null cannon will appear on the minimap.
There are concentric circles and tic marks inside of the minimap, which appear to represent 12.5 meter intervals.
That means that the small circle represents a 25 m radius and the next concentric circle represents 62.5 m.
If my scan radius is 10 m, then that would be a super small circle at the center of the minimap!!!!!
Enhancing scan range by 10% would be pointless as I still wouldn't be able to tell what is going on in the tiny middle area of the minimap.
Is there a way to enlarge the minimap so that I can actually determine what's going on close to me, since that is where my dropsuit scan is effective?
What is the range of my weapon compared to the size of the minimap? A visual indicator would be very helpful.

currently and to the best of my knowledge there is no way to zoom in your mini map, but this is a good thing as any scanners in your squad will light up enemies and it can be very helpful to know if they are within, or outside of your 100m radius.
in regards to your weapon range there are spec sheets on assault rifles here
just try to gauge your distance relative to your target by their radial distance from you on your mini map (making it quite handy not to be smaller than 100m)
personally I don't run any fittings without a scanner making it much easier to find your enemy and typically lvl1 will light up anyone with a 50% fail for those running enhanced profile damp. and it becomes very difficult to scan scouts and those running max prof damp.
ultimately what I would like to get across is that 100m on your mini map is perfect, too close and you won't see what's going on within enemies effective ranges, too far out and it would become difficult to decide who is close enough to consider a threat.
It's best to use it as it is and become familiar with range estimations and scanning.
Have fun out there, and best of luck on the field of battle.

Thank you for your reply. I want to enlarge the minimap, which means to make it bigger on the screen. I don't want to change the 100 m radius. The problem is that it is so small that I cannot tell what is happening within 10 m of my merc, which is critical when hacking.
Thanks, for the weapon range info!!

Sure no problem, I do try to help in any way I can. as to making it larger in general only thing I can think of to solve this problem would be to get an HDTV or if you already have one... get a bigger one
sorry that there is no easier solution at this time.

That's ok. I am playing on a 10 ft 1080P screen and cannot determine what is happening within the tiny center circle of the minimap. Perhaps I am the only player who has this problem or thinks that information would be useful. Maybe I will recommend an enlarged transparent overlay that can easily be toggled on/off as a feature for a future release :)

Sheesh, you link him with weapon range info and you give him CCP data the is not even accurate? Try my signature for some more up to date information :).
But no unfortunately, no enlarging the minimap at this point in time.
