Ha, you thought that was another candidacy thread? ;)
OK, this topic was probably debated a few months ago, but it's nice to bring it up from time to time.
Have there been any talks between CCP and CPM on providing CPM members with PS3 devkits? As we don't have access to SiSi, due to the fact that distributing alpha quality clients through PSN is night impossible, maybe CCP/Sony could supply CPM members with dev kits?
Although some might argue that it won't help (due to the Uprising release ;), I think it could still be a very valuable tools for providing feedback to CCP before things get live. |

Game console companies are extremely neurotic about their dev kits, I'm highly doubtful Sony would allow such a transaction to take place. Dev kits for consoles are like black market diamonds.

Devkits are used to develop games on not for players to see unfinished content for something that will change and/or might not happen CMP can just get early access to builds if someone from CMP really really wants that . CCP may already do , but I really , really doubt it. |

To use early builds you need a devkit (or a jailbroken PS3) as AFAIR the installation process requires stuff to be done by Sony themselves.
Also bad installs can brick the PS3, which is harder to accomplish with a devkit.
Getting a devkit for the few members of the CPM should be that hard.
(Of course I'm all for providing a SiSi client via PSN for everyone ;) |

That would be roughly equivalent in difficulty to getting everyone on the CPM a private jet.

I doubt they would let you VPN onto the test server, security issues and all.
