Yup.. 23,345 damage. I didn't even know you could get hit by those missiles. But then that raises a question... Could you use dropships to prevent null cannon damage?

Well mlt ships are certainly cheap enough.
Seasoned pilots basically have to memorize so much more of maps than anyone else, there's so many things out there just waiting to make you violently explode.

My gut tells me either:
- The projectile continues after killing you and hits the MCC anyway
or
- It's a waste of time as you could almost certainly be more useful elsewhere as the NULL cannons fire quickly enough you could only stop a small amount and make almost no noticeable difference. Or less of a difference than doing something else would.
Either way my curious nature wants to know the answer to the first question and my love of debate will handle the second part when the need arises.

After a major update regarding new maps, there was one map, Ashland, in domination where a null cannon's firing path was blocked by the catwalk/bridge. Because it was blocked, enemy/ally MCC's were not getting damaged by the null cannon which caused the match to extend to a long amount of time. The only damage that the MCCs were taking were from each other's MCC's missles. CCP logibro(?) can confirm this because he was in that one match with one of my corpmates. That map was taken out, revised and was released back into working conditions.
So yes! You CAN prevent Null Cannons from damaging the enemies/allies MCC with your dropship. I wouldn't recommend it though since dropships aren't exactly cheap.
