What needs to be fixed first is pvpve/pve and the market link from eve to dust and the release of all suits and gear new maps and modes. This is content. Teirside is a waste of time thus I say no to it for now and it does not need to be looked into being implemented (yet).
I disagree. If they allow more options to be open to the players, then tactics and such can improve the quality of life, as well as giving meaning to many of the things that one might find on the eventual marketplace, causing the economic action of supply and demand to start working on a larger area (Right now, the only 'good' selling items would be Wep/Shield/Armor/Damage mods). It would also make the fights in FW simultaneously more interesting and involved.
Actually it won't and the reason for that is due to the meta people will still focus on what is the best and quickest way to min/max their SP which will bring a lot more issues in its own right but we will have MORE options for it.
As for tactics, I'm sorry but regardless of teirside or not an organized group will still stomp on the 'blueberries' and rage posting will continue. Basically there is no tactics still just more options on how to die (in game) and to stomp harder.
I have to agree on the market being a little more interesting but until it is actually implemented I'll wait and see.
As an established player (as you mentioned making FW more interesting) you would already have the isk, friends and corporation to help fund you but and everyone here that I've read are only thinking about 'let's fix "X" because I want a better gaming experience and nuts to anyone else!' mentally.
Ok let me inform on why teirside not should not be even considered right now. Player retention and content required. Yes we all know that Dust is still considered still in 'Beta" because of the lack of pve, suits, gear, advance/proto HAVs etc.
What happens if a new player wanted to earn isk but didn't understand the controls or the game in general and was inexperienced in pvp? The last thing they want is to be destroyed in FW or joining a random skirmish with everyone AFK in the MCC which doesn't give a good impression at all. The best option? Pve.
Let them do a few missions to clear out drones at X planet in Y system while earning some standing with the faction navy of their choice and earning a little isk and books on the side to get them started. A tutorial mode can help guide the new player and ease them into the the eternal fight that is new eden or what not.
As a 2007 eve pilot I've done mission at an early stage, to low sec roaming and finally to null sec blob warfare and believe me when I say that we do not need teirside yet. We need market pvp. We need the rest of the suits and vehicles. We need god damn pve/pvpve and a tutorial for new people. Once these are established then bring in teirside for specializations sake.
