Of another game i which the ability to shoot from a cloak made the cloak OP.
Killzone 3 allowed Snipers to shoot from their cloaks, but as long as you weren't out in the open like a **** you wouldn't get killed by one.
You'd have to be braindead to not notice people running around with cloaks active in Crysis and TTK was so low in that game that practically anyone who got caught running around cloaked was an easy kill (Much like Scouts)
.etc
Oh, and while you're all at it please provide me of the video you are all watching that shows the cloak in action.
Only people I see complaining are the ones I see running tank and gank fits.
You're all bad, and should feel bad.

Being cloaked and have the ability to shoot, is stupid. I don't care what game it is.
If it's being done then you have to actively press a button to uncloak, THEN be able to shoot otherwise lol. KZ3 cloaking was a joke, hence it didn't make it back in KZ SF as it was. lolCRYSIS... the most boring good looking games ever.

Here's the problem I see people having:
Quote:I am in a proto suit, with proto weapon and proto mods*. Therefore absolutely everyone - EVERYONE - should kneel down before me and just die. Giving me with KDR, of course. After all, it was my mightiness that struck them down.
But what's this? A scout was hiding, cloaked in the corner? And their shotgun has taken my head clean off? This is absolutely impossible. Positively unsupportable. It's an outrage! No one can have any meaningful advantage over me!
...other than that, I think we're all good. Use your scanners.

For scouts, it'll certainly make them a much bigger threat but lol, we still have scanners. Hell. Scanners will become an even bigger necessity on the field when we have squads of scouts running around shotgunning from the shadows. Does it mean they'll be OP? We'll have to decide whenever we get actual stats or better yet when they're introduced. Mass Drivers and Laser Rifles might also be a big thing...Imagine if you can sweep across a field quick with your Laser Rifle and you hit something? Same with a Mass Driver on a hill and such.

Remember when there was that bug that made you invisible to everyone, but still allowed you to shoot?
Yeah, I think that's what people remember when they think of this.

CCP can't add or modify anything for the last 8 months without it being extremely OP or UP.
They don't do moderation when adding or changing. The lack of consumer confidence in additions or changes isn't something we came to DUST with, but something people are leaving with atm. |

IKR the first game I played that had a cloak system in it was Tribes Ascend and it was flawless perfect balance from that company.

You're all bad, and should feel bad. In Killzone 1,2 and 3. Shooting forced you out of the cloak. Such is not the case here. Also, gun shots made you visible on radar in killzone 1, 2 and 3. In DUST cloak + superior dampening tech = completely invisible.

Give me one example of a game where the ability to shoot a gun made the gun OP. There are several games that you could give as an example. Therefore, the ability to shoot a gun is OP.
This is failed logic. What you should be saying is, "Give me one example of a game where you had the ability to shoot from cloak and the cloak was not OP." If you can find at least one example, that means there is at least one solution.

Can fire while cloaked: Scout stands in front of you, shotguns you in face. Cloak immediately fails and enters cooldown.
Cannot fire while cloaked: Scout approaches you, waits for you to face away from them or simply walks around you, then manually decloaks and shotguns you in the back of the helmet. Scout can reengage cloak because he didn't deplete it with gunfire
I am honestly having a hard time understanding why the former would be significantly more "gamebreaking" than the latter |

If you can find at least one example, that means there is at least one solution. Both are valid in this case, if you can't think of an example where shooting while cloaking is OP then the "clearly it's OP, despite the fact we don't really know how it'll all work" argument kinda falls apart.
And since I'm a former X-Box gamer, Halo 3 and Halo Reach both had cloaks similar to how the system described by CCP Remnant sounds, and it wasn't OP in either. |

You're all bad, and should feel bad. Shooting while cloaked I don't see as a problem, KZ once you shot, the cloak had to charge, and even a little movement screwed up the cloak. Crysis, if you moved you're energy would deplete quickly, and if you shot while cloaked, it would deplete your energy completely. So you better be a good shot or better be behind them or you're dead, because "maximum armor" is going to kick your ass.
They don't want us able to shoot and cloak is because it would be balanced. If the cloak has to charge, then shouldn't we have the ability to do this? We would only be able to kill one person and then we're visible. It's a problem to them because they won't be able to shoot us 100m away and kill us. We won't be easy kills anymore. |

The way I see it, it takes the effort out of using ohk weapons. For example, defending an objective with a shotgun goes from being constantly on the move and waiting til the right time to strike, to waiting a few feet away from the objective and killing targets as they come by and the same basically goes for snipers. That said I need to actually play against cloaks to know if they're op.
