Just wanted to read some reactions to my question. If CCP were to deploy the ability to trade items in February would or should we be about to trade BPOs? Why or why not?
I say yes.
Being able to trade items and ISK is the first step towards an economy. I think that all in game items except AUR currency should be tradable. I think having rare and unique items like the in game BPOs is a good thing.

I sure wouldn't mind turning useless thales and other salvage into stuff I actually use.

No, because BPOs (in DUST) are ridiculous. CCP should buy them all back for AUR and NEVER release them again.
How are they ridiculous? In a game where there is a risk/reward factor for gear you bring into a match having a 0 risk item is unbalanced. Its just simple math. |

Back when BPOs were available, I doubted they'd allow trades since every trade was lost potential revenue for them. Now that they don't want them around, I doubt they'll allow trades since over time more and more will at least be locked away on idle accounts. |

If someone wants to pay me unbelievably stupid amounts of isk to take an unlimited refills voucher for the statistically worst equipment in the game off my hands, I'm all for that. I'm sure it will pay for itself with the 675 isk saved per module after 10,000 deaths in militia fits
I mean uhhh... WTS MLT bpos including MLT shotgun, MLT armor plates, 10m isk each! Great value for discerning players! |

They removed BPOs to promote purchases of consumable AUR gear, no other reason, I'm sure of it. |

I am glad. I have been worrying about that. Sometimes it seems like game is against itself.

Although, I do have one problem with BPOs in DUST. As of right now they can never be destroyed. At least in EVE there is a chance of destruction.
