In chromeosome where the only real problem that needed to be fixed was AV Grenades and lag. The game would be awsome
Remember those AWSOME AR 1v1's we all had? Yea well me to....
Or The mass driver? which was feared but not OP with its 4 round clip?
Or The laser rifle? which was the most feared weapon in the game? The only thing that needed to be done was nerf the range... CCP did more than that.
Or the Heavy + HMG? They were great backk then... They only needed a small buff to health... Other than that it DID take a good squad to take down a heavy
Or the TANKS oh lord the tanks were great... we just needed a small nerf to AV. Shields needed to be on par but that was about it...
Or the unmatched scout suit with an amazing strafe and two equipment slots anyone could be great with it
The Logis actually played as logi's not assaults
Assaults were assaults as they should be
Snipers were perfect
Dropships needed there buffs here and there other than that I had some fun 007 moments with these things.. I try to re-live these moments but when I try im hit with my own drop ship
ESPECIALLY the shot gun! any new player would feel confterbel with this beautiful weapon back then & it was balanced... if you died in your suit by a shot gun, chances are you weren't with you squad.
Working with my squad felt immerse.
The sound of the weapons were fine back then... I loved the sound of my AR. Now... im stuck with a nerf gun
The graphics looked a little better it was more mettalic and shiny
I miss corporation contracts... I had so much fun with my corp back then doing those battles. & I felt more determined to win these matches than ****** PC where the only way to win is to exploit the **** out of FOTM
Scanners were more of a personal thing but tht could have been improved
Where are we now closed beta veterans? in Deep ****, stressful moments, bullshit, etc
I agree the changes have been nice but also hurt the game in the process. I think weve lost more players than ever

Everything seems better in the past, but if you could go back you would find it overrated and much worse than the current state of things. I'm not happy with the current state of the game, but I strongly disagree that things are just going downhill, and I'm not ignoring obvious improvements.
I don't see anything particularly awesome about AR duels, SCR duels are more intense. Are you implying that MDs are OP now for having 6 rounds? because they're not, they were UP when first released. Heavy + HMG is great now. Didn't really elaborate on what was so great about snipers back then. Why can't you have 007 moments with dropships now? Shotgun didn't get any stat changes from Chromosome from what I remember, and hit detection for shotguns was worse. Why doesn't working with your squad feel "immersive" now? The aesthetic may have changed, but I assure you the graphics were not better back then. I don't understand why or how corporation contracts were better on the subject of FOTM use. FOTMs have always existed, and organized corps will always gravitate to them, PC or corp contracts. SCANNERS DIDN'T EVEN WORK, they had to remove active scanners from the game because it was that bad. There was no way to tell if it was actually working, or your passive scan results. I'm not in deep ****, I'm not any more stressed than I was before, etc.
I do miss the TTK, and a bunch of minor little things though.

Ah yes, I was wondering when another of these threads would pop up, with the OP so completely blinded by nostalgia that he forgets both how bad chromo actually was. |

Chromosome was good, but it very overrated. It wasn't THAT good. We are in a much better place now. Adapt or die.

Actually, in chromosome, the shotgun fire spread was equivalent to what it is now with a maxed out operation skill, and I beleive had a slightly longer range(not sure about the second fact) but it is true that hit detection has greatly improved
Yes, I did kill Archduke Ferdinand. I used my nova knives.

I don't know how to explain this but, the game felt more arcade-like in chromosome. It was a lot more fun with the scout suits. But what you failed to mention was damage mods had no stacking penalty and kin cats were OP because when you stacked them, you could walk through bullets.

Stopped at the mass driver part.
First: Mass drivers got their clip buff going into chromosome; the 4 round clip was in codex. Second: Mass drivers were a joke when they had the 4 round clip because their hit detection was completely broken, so they weren't feared.

That is all. If you actually used the mass driver like a dedicated player you would understand it WAS NOT underpowered. It took SKILL to use
