I was on EvE last night with some friends trying to drop Orbitals for them in FW. It turns out I need to change my faction to help them at all. Me & my squad were very frustraited about this because you have you freedom of choice to drop ob's for whatever faction you you desire.... So it turns out that im never going to have the true expirience of droping OB's if I need to change my faction every single time I want to help out. I mean I really dont care if I lose my standings in eve.

No you don't..... you have to be in the required factions Milita, now if you are even remotely committed to that faction you will be unable to join the opposing factions FW at a later point because of standing issues.
The fact that you and your guys seem to be jumping between FW factions is the really problem FW faces. Disloyalty.
FW needs proper standings in Dust where when you fight in battles for the Amarr you cannot then fight for the Minmatar, where you lock yourself or your corp into ONE Selected FW alignment until you wish to change and then have to lock yourself or your corp into another.
FW is not about farming your way to ******* riches. I should be about loyalty. A dead concept in Dust I know....

I could care less for loyalty. I care for for the core mechanics and extras of dust not FW bs. Because dome times I need some specialist duvvoles or some rail rifles. Or sometimes I cant afford a tank.

The you don't need to be in FW. No Gallentean will hire you to fight in the proxy wars if they know you will turn around and betray them next day..... its about the consequences of your actions.

My corp joined an alliance recently. In order to do that we had to (of course) switch CEO control to one of our Eve players to apply. When control went back to our Dust CEO, our Eve players (who had joined various factions to provide OB support) found that they were no longer in their Militia's.
I think it had something to do with the Dust side corp mechanics not being fully implemented yet. Eve pilots can join a militia and then join a corp run by a Dust Merc and continue dropping OB's for whatever Militia they want. Is this something that will change? Will Dust Corps be 'locked in' to a single faction at some point? |
