Things like plasma cannons, flaylock, MDs, REs, and SMGs aren't included in that 'shadow hunter' event.
Seems this is some kind of not so hidden test hmm.

Seriously, these events are NOT closed to you.
You can get into a scout suit and nova knives after a battle or two. Which should be no problem since you are an elite tanker.
Adapt and join in. Or play as you do day in day out.
Me personally, I see these events as an opportunity and insentive to try stuff out I would have otherwise.
You'll have a lot more fun if you just join in with the events that are happening, rather than lamenting the fact its doesn't apply to you because your a borderline OC who has to play the exact same way every day.

Exactly.... I've seen scouts with more EHP than my Caldari medium with 2 basic shield extenders and one militia plate.
To the others above, I run infantry maybe 33% of the time. My issue with the event is that it rewards one play style and not every play style.

Nice catch, probably a great way to get a ton of data on the TTK issue with respect to the Rifles and HMG in game.

Oi, why you gotta compare the HMG to the Rifles like they are on the same level?
Thanks CCP for making the HMG Heavy viable again :3

Don't ask me, ask CCP! 
I'd imagine they're eager to collect data on the weapon in its post-buff state.
