I've had numerous amounts of people telling me(messaging me) saying that im ruining the game and decreasing the player base. This is being said because i wear proto gear in public matches, well tbh if i dont "proto stomp" many other people will. I have only had proto gear since the launch of 1.7 and i have had too many people crying about the way i play, im sorry for being good at this game JUST DONT CRY WHEN I KILL YOU! I'd never cry about being killed by a PRO suit.
Why? Because with TTK so amazingly low, I'd be killed by pretty much any rifle in the same amount of time regardless of tier. PRO simply delays what is usually the inevitable.

To be fair, this isn't something we should be blaming on the players. This is CCP's problem, and it should be them who fix it. New players need to stop getting matched up against old players.
And if you are an old player and don't like seeing people running proto in pubs, you'll have to just deal with it. If you've been playing the game long enough to field the same stuff, and choose not to, that is your decision. Personally, I only run advanced tops in public matches because I try to be careful with my ISK. If I come across someone in proto gear, I don't get mad about it because he made the financial decision to do so (and a very poor financial decision in my opinion).

It is simply a matter of attitude if you believe the game should only exist for your pleasure and you find enjoyment in matches with little challenge but large ego strokes then continue to play the way you do. If you enjoy an actual challenge which forces you to try and improve and/or you believe in fair play and sportsmanship, then change. You can abrogate all responsibility your actions in the game have on it or you can accept some responsibility and try and make it a better game. I wonder which you will choose. |

I have actually come to the point that when I see corps such as Molon Labe, DUST "University", and a few other ptotostomping and overtanking I leave the battle, there is no point in lowering myself to that kind of match, I also refuse to squad with any of them.

because you use OP gear with 600+ armor and proto weapons and killing anything but proto like a newb, use adv gear if your good

Used to protosolo, protosolo occasionally, but now advsolo because going 8-0 and then chilling at homebase for the rest of the duration of an ambush nets you enough wp to get above avg payouts (the extra gains take a bit more effort/ ih8efort). More importantly it gives me time to look up some fresh salsa recipes on the net.

For comparison, in EVE, you won't find super-capital fleets of some large power bloc camping hisec-lowsec gates, stomping noobs who decided to see what's lowsec like. And it's not that they can't do it (meaning, some game mechanic is preventing them). It's the simple fact that they've got better things to do.
If only you (and people like you - with good skills, high SP, playing in organized squads) also had better things to do, you would be doing this game a great favor... and probably had more fun too.

Most of the time I see you running in a squad. Apart from this, u and your Corps mates like to camp CRUs and Uplinks.
That makes a lot of additional, cheap kills. Furthermore as a squad leader u get to drop an orbital which gives u additional cheap kills. It's part of the game and a viable tactic. But it's still cheap and nothing to boast about in the forums.
You are a good player, without a doubt. So are some of your Corp buddies. I know for a fact cuz my ALT played with you several times. Is that so...? I don' t run any proto weapons or suits except proto forge against tank spam :)
Most of the time i use Basic Commando and basic RR, and still kinda stomp a little most games...

I pretty much came to the conclusion that you're a trash player, so if you are doing well in a game - it's not because you are any good, it's because the other team are more trash than you.

If anything, it makes other players see the potential. You've killed me a few times with proto gear, which I don't mind because I usually only wear MLT gear in pub matches. But I've also killed you a few times so this makes us even.
But you aren't the only person who wears proto to a pub match, if I see Rei Shepperd in the opposing team I'll gladly leave the battle lol |

TTK is far too low. I hardly run anything other than my standard "Sever" Minmitar Logistics with a basic CR, Basic RE's, Nanos, and either uplinks, a rep tool, or a scanner and I'm still usually top 5 if not top 3, and the whole suit at its cheapest costs me $18k. 25+-2 isnt an uncommon score at the end of the game. Why go proto anymore in pubs? its going to get you what, .5 sec longer life span for $100k extra?
Also TBQH: Sax, Who are you? I see this post about building your rep? we know your corp name, but you are not a recognizable "Threat" that we notice in game, we generally laugh and say "Wow, these guys are almost as good as "Smart crew" this should be a quick one"

I used to run proto because I could and it helped against the other protos. Now even basic combat/rail rifles completely destroy fully tanked protos in half a second so I just went back to my advanced suit. I have plenty of ISK but that's no reason to just throw it away.

Here's my personal philosophy:
If I'm playing solo I'll bust out my proto gear.
If I'm in a squad, I'll run advanced until I encounter an enemy Proto, at which I point I immediately get my proto suit and try to hunt him down.
If the game is a lost cause, I switch to my BPO loadout.
I feel it's an honorable way to do it.

Tanks can't chase people into and through buildings. Also anyone with half a brain can avoid an engagement with a tank or destroy it. Proto suits on the other hand follow you like a female dog in heat.
Also the Hatemail is a part of the role. Normally opposites attract, but being a dicker on the battlefield makes other dicks tend to stick to you.
If you didn't want the hatemail I suggest you drop the proto gear or do Planetary Conquest exclusively. PC is kind of where Proto gear was meant to be deployed, not public matches.
