We all agreed to promote Sir Snugglz's piloting skills instead... |

(im kinda surprized they only brought out one forge gunner.... pub matches have more oposition then that... thats like an invitation for areial slaughter no wonder you went 31/0 hahahaha)
Wasnt pubs. It was PC. But yeah, pubs do have much more AV than that. |

What do you fly/ fits/ flying tips/ etc etc. All would help this budding PC pilot.
Where do I begin, firstly, always expect at least 2-3 proto rail tanks with at least 1 having damage mods. Then, at least 2 proto forge gunners (1 assault/ 1 breach).
Never stopping is key. Understand how a heavy's movement works when aiming with the forge. certain angles are slower than others. circling around them without stopping or slowing down allows you to shoot at them while dodging their shots.
Rails slowness is aiming at 45 degree angles. So moving up and down isnt the best, but moving up/left, right/down, down/left, right/up will allow you to doge better... especially when you got a good enemy tank team comp. Remember, they will probably be on comms and will try to cover each other.
understand how the breach and assault forges work.... assaults keeps the heavy stationary but shoots faster.... a breach takes a bit longer between shots but the heavy can move... and packs a punch.
There are various fits you can run and it really depends on what works best for you. I use shield tanked derpship with After burner. 3244 shields. Know how different weapons affect your derpship. I know a proto rail with damage mods on can bring me down to half armor with one shot. I know 2 breach shots will drop me to 44 armor. etc
The key is knowing when to retreat. The concept is simple. 1 hit= retreat. Even if they require 1 more shot, if I get hit I retreat and regen my shield... most of the time I can come back and finish it off with a couple more shots without having to be at risk at being low hp.
Also, contrary to popular belief, in PC its actually better to fly low when getting shot, especially when there's a compound with high buildings. Most tankers sit on a top of a mountain, which means that their rail has a limit as to how low they can aim.
learn to perform tight turns. And reach max acceleration as fast as possible.
There is so much more... but you'll learn as you play pc more often... you never truly have flown a derpship until you fly one in PC....
took me months to be effective and not lose derpships. On average I lose 2-3 derpships.... but mostly can do a match without losing any at all.
With that said, dont be afraid to lose one, sometimes kamikaze tactics will keep you from dying and motivate your team to go harder.... My role model is Garven Dreis, Red Leader. |
