If it's done right, a fast-moving target should be pretty easy to notice, a slow-moving target should be harder to notice, and a still target is invisible. Ideally, I see one of the big things being, that at long-range, the shimmer isn't defined enough for you to hit it without some luck. It'd be a nice way to cross large fields without being sniped.
