CCP has gone through a few revamps on skills and skill groups in EVE. I have lived through most of them being an EVE player since 2006. Why is CCP Shanghai making the same mistakes, some worse then what EVE went through? Let me start with skills that unlock and do nothing else. These skills are not fun to train. When I train a Weapons Operations skill to level 2 or level 4 it does nothing. This is poor planning for what skills do. In fact, I am fairly certain that EVE eliminated ALL skills that unlock ability to use modules that do not also give some sort of bonus. Ship command skills do nothing in themselves, but are very powerful because the ship bonuses are multiplied amongst that skill so they DO something for every level you train. Vehicle skills - Why do I not have to train separate skills for a Gunlogi and a Madrugar? There SHOULD be a Gallente and a Caldari HAV skill separate. Also, that skill should do something like add a percentage of HP per level or dmg from turrets or SOMETHING. There is no reason to train it past level one. It doesnGÇÖt even unlock any other HAVs (currently) This would also help solve the 0 SP Militia tank problem. Do I think Militia tanks are OP? No, but as someone who runs tanks very often and has a few million SP invested into them, I think people who have no skills in tanks are OP with them. I should be able to run cheap militia tanks and do ok with them with millions of SP invested into turret control and vehicle upgrades etc. But there should be a BONUS for me to run a militia tank versus someone that has zero SP. There are some, I get a bonus to repper amount per second and turret rotation speed, but that doesnGÇÖt matter too much versus the Damage mod Sica that two shots my gunlogi or madrugar. There would be less Militia tank spam if the 0 sp people sucked pretty badly with them. Only dedicated tankers would regularly call them in (I do when I lose a Maddy or Gunny and want to maintain ISK efficiency). Also suits are broken. What is the purpose of a Scout suit versus a Small frame suit etc? The specialized suits have bonuses as well as the same slots as the lower SP suit equivalents. So once you can run a specialized suit, why run a Medium versus a Logi or an Assault? Cost? NOPE. The proto light and proto scouts COST THE SAME! Why?
CCP why donGÇÖt you look at your other game that has learned over 10 years what works and what doesnGÇÖt? I would love Vehicles and suits to have Capacitor and have modules use cap instead of have cooldowns etc. But that is just me being used to EVE.
