Instead of rewarding orbitals through war points, what if they were rewarded to the team that herald majority of the objectives? Or was given to the team based on how much the null cannons damaged the mcc?

Isn't that how it currently works though? With Zekain's idea, an OB is no longer earned by a squad, but it's earned for the whole team. Who's to say which of the squads get to call in the OB?

Who's to say which of the squads get to call in the OB? same way it decides who calls it in for fw maybe? Or perhaps a dice roll for any of the players that have more then 1000 wp.
This would also stop orbital spam/ farming. As long as you get 1000 wp, you may be the lucky one to get a strike. Both teams will get them. The winning team would just get a couple more, and be able to drop them a little sooner.
