So I'm getting ready for a PC with some of my favorite people I squad with. He's been telling me how much he needs me in this battle and I even set apart time to get ready for this thing so that I wouldn't disappoint him.

About an hour beforehand we're starting to create squads and he invites a member from Team Players into the squad. Apparently he has good connections with them and was able to get a couple guys to help out in case we went in without a full 16. Cool. I'm fine with that.

Then we have 4 TP guys in the chat channel and I'm starting to wonder what's going on. All I hear over comms is some guy talking about how this person or that person would be great to be in this PC battle and now I'm feeling uneasy. We already had a lineup of 16 players designated for our PC battle. I'm okay with 1-2 of them subbing in for players that didn't make it, but I don't want to make it look like we're relying on TP to win battles for us.

I start publically talking to the FC for the battle (one of the guys I enjoy squadding up with all the time) about who was going to be in this PC, and questioning why all these players from TP were here. Before I can even finish my thought one of them interrupts me and asks if I'm racist towards TP.

What the heck? He then starts saying that he wants to pull in yet another player, a proto tanker. At this point I told the FC that I was making some fittings with uplinks and stuff, and then someone else says something about a dropship and getting uplinks all around the city. I personally like my game experience, and didn't want to play another laggy PC, so I told them not to drop so many.

But that's when it all really went downhill because then that same guy from earlier tells me it only lags the enemy team if YOUR TEAM drops a bunch of uplinks. Really? So in every PC that I've been in so far, the other team does this specifically so that our side ends up with such horrible lag that we lose because we can't even play? I'm sorry, but I don't play unfair like that. According to him, "it's how you win".

I just...how is this even okay? How is it right? Why would anyone even want to play alongside people with this attitude? I've never had a reason to dislike TP before this, but now I just feel sad that this is what it all comes down to.

And worst of all, the FC, the one person who I've played with day after day, for months, with so many wins in our history, who keeps telling me he needs me, thinks that I'm replaceable for people with the mindset like this.

In case you were wondering, I was supposed to be the logi repping all of the heavies in that match. They replaced me with that tanker from earlier. Of course.

My corp did have a PC district, but most of time the enemy pulled the lag trick. When we finally lost it to a particularly lag-happy bunch, the general feeling was 'good riddance!'

I left out of my own choice.

They tried to tell me things like "we're all on the same team right now" and "It's not like we have anything against you".

But I don't want to play with people using unfair tactics. It's just not as fun to win that way.
I would rather lose a really good fight when we were both fighting fair than win unfairly.

And yeah, uplink spam is CHEAP. May be how some WIN, but our team does more than enough winning without a crutch.

And DDB is always looking for slayers.

This is why I don't bother playing with other ppl. Most of these ret*ards I'd probably beat down with a reed in RL. They are such low end ppl. This really is the mentality these ppl carry with them in RL. there is no "only because it's a game" mentality. I don't suddenly become cheap because it's a game. Good sportsmanship applies.
