So most of us are familiar with CCP's rogue drones they've been talking about forever as our eventual PVE content? Well in case not, here they are featured in a trailer,

As you can tell, these things hover off the ground. However, I was google searching for some new pictures and stumbled upon an old picture,

Doesn't really look like Dust, but the base in the background is unmistakenly Caldari, and when you compare the top of those machines to our rogue drone friends here,

It is pretty much identical.
Just thought I'd share. Again, this image is old so who knows if they still plan on making a chicken walker version of these guys or not. And regardless, PVE won't be coming to Dust until at least 5 more years

I was thinking War of the Worlds. Man, watching that trailer again...I can only hope for PVE. Seems like so much fun and a great time for it to happen. It would be a great addition to Dust. Soon...

That appears to be the work of Anthony Pereira. He was Sr Concept Artist with Dust 514.

I agree, definitely getting War of the World vibes. Also the orbital strike warning sound sounds a lot like the 2005 War of the Worlds tripod sound,

And yeah, I agree this would be a good time for PVE, but I have the feeling CCP is waiting to get back to work on it because our player base is low and if you introduce PVE there might not be enough people playing PVP.

Maybe we need another event like the Templar one except the volunteers get to run as Rogue Drones?
