Marketing: Is it that hard to keep your playstation.blog up to date to get new blood in here. I know this game has many short comings but ya gotta let people know what your doing to get new members and bring some back. Someone needs to be chewed out if updates about the game are already being channeled to Playstation and they are not being posted. Emails are not enough.

Web site Admin: Here is a suggestion. Move the events link out of the community link. It is hidden there and you want anyone going to the site to see the game is alive. Events should have its own link and in your face. This should also be updated in a more timely manner. As in... Customers should know about the events sooner. Repetition creates habit. I know the admins can not put the info in there until they receive it, but hey, make it roll up hill for once.

DEVS: Is giving information after the fact to the majority of your customers your strategy? The lag is not just IN the game. It is in events being run and news about future roll outs. Please give us news sooner so we can give you feedback in advance? It is too late if people are having to dig for it in code. The CPM is not your only resource. A handful of people do not necessarily give you the majority of opinions/advice about what your customers really want. I know some the feedback is harsh. Thanks in advance for the thick skin.
To all: I toned this down quite a bit from my first draft and hope it is received constructively. Do yall need help? It seems like their is a communication and or planning breakdown somewhere. |

This needs work.
While trying to purchase the Tactical Edition while it was on sale, the Dust website said it was $19.99, the Promotion forum in these forums (which I only just found out existed a few days ago) correctly identified the sale for $4.99 and duration of the sale, and I couldn't find the Tactical Edition listed in the Sony Store when going to Dust 514 and hitting "See all" for the purchasable add-ons. Only clicking on the link from the Dust homepage took me to the Sony Store page for the Tactical Edition, which showed the sale price of $4.99 but not the duration.
This is simple guys. Get it together.
The Dust home page, Promotions forum, and Sony Store page all need to show the correct price of an item and if it's on sale, how much for (original and sale price) and how long. Issues with items not being visible when searching in the Sony Store need to be fixed. |

This is not the first time this has been brought up. A number of people have been burned a number of times on mismatched content across different partners and sites. It shows great disconnect in the CCP marketing department...if they have one.
I always assumed that their marketing strategy was "not to market at all". When CCP decided to leave beta due to legal pressure, we barely heard about it. When we asked why they weren't advertising, they were silent. Looking at how far down the road they need to go to get a stable game, I'm not that surprised. I've seen sweepstakes and deals from random third party vendors that I had no idea they were affiliated with. I won several kit sweepstakes because I'm certain I was one of maybe 10 that saw the sweepstakes. I've seen hate threads on people being able to buy codes for things that no longer exist and not being able to get answers or compensation.
As someone in the developing industry, this is what we call a clusterfuck.
I like dust, and I'm not ungrateful. Thank you for letting me spend time on a free game, complain about it, enjoy it and make some good friends alone the way. However, I'm losing steam now after 7 months and the sheer number of changes. After 1.7, I sucked it up, played with my corp mates and just had fun with silly suits, but 1.8 I think is going put dust514 on the back burner for me. They might be internalizing and *organizing* in their black box, but when your community is what is promoting this game and you're still not demonstrating to the community that you have structural reasons for each change and that is the reason for consecutive overhauls, you can't expect much loyalty.
Get a good marketer, create better defined content, subscribe to 3rd party tools that can manage the same branded message on all your social platforms and consolidate your store items.
