I always thought it was a little annoying that anyone could just pick up the next FOTM weapon with no investment in anything else and be just as good as anyone else. At least now there will be some sort of advantage given to people who spent the millions on the drop suit that compliments the weapon.

Your LR will most certainly become more usefull as the Beam is considered as singe shots but heatbuildup is based on time so in theory you should be able to fire your LR faster. This will result most propably into the following, lets say your LR overheat on 60 "bullets" with rof increase it will now overheat at 75 "bullets" but these will be fired in the same time you would need now for 60. Puh sounds a bit complicated...

You do realize that the laser rifle without the amarr suit bonus it is at a serious disadvantage. Even with all the skills maxed it still has trouble competing against other rifles. I say if CCP is seriously going take one of the few things going for the laser then they should compensate by balancing the laser against other rifles of its own range.
