I know it has probably been covered a million times before but what the hell

When I and a few friends started playing DUST it took us the better part of the first few months to really figure out what was happening and where to spend our hard earned Skill Points.
Of cource me being a scrounge I only have one character as I want to keep the maximum amount of SP on the one character.
Then when I saw certain weapons killing it by the Protos out there I started to spec into them to see and yeah, nah .... basically I blew millions of hard earnt SP in things I wont ever use again.

Ive played other online games that give you the ability to reset your character from time to time or as a one off thing and this got me to thinking.
What I would like to see is the ability after 4 months to reset you charcter (name, race, sex, etc) only once and at a cost ...
Loss of 5-10% of your total Skill Points on reset, but you get the ability to spend the left over where you want to respec
Loss of all ISK spent on books of the old login, then having to buy them again after the reset
You can only respec one time , once, numero uno times.

Im sure i am not the only person has so mny SP locked up on rubbish they now wont use .....

Of cource this could mean that you end up with suits, weapons, vehicles, and other items you cant use anymore but thats another bad luck issue you will have to live with ...

I would really like the ability to reset the skillpoints in one way or another, mainly because of the reasons you say - to spend the hard earned skillpoints more efficiently.
In my opinion they should give the option to do a skillpoint reset with any big balance changes. For example the changes to the specialized dropsuit skills that is now on the test server.
I have spent a total of 2 760 960 skillpoints on getting Amarr Logistics to level 5, after the changes I will probably never use the suit again as I specialized in it for its armor repairing module bonuses, making those skillpoints spent basicly void.
Is this fair? No, not in my opinion. Atleast what they could do is refund the skillpoints spent into that skill(s) they decide to balance change so the player wont be punished.

I dont mind getting skill poins back to re-allocate when they make changes (like the last update did with vehicles) but I have never really specked into vehicles so didnt get much back ...
my thought was that I would rather loose 500K-1M SP and be able to re allocate the remaining 9.5mil SP where I wanted now that I know what I want to spec in ... rather than start a nwe character and loose 5 months play

Yeah, I just deleted Dust... That's 4 accounts- 3 toons each logging in for at least a few minutes going bye bye until they announce a reset. So long and thanks for all the bullets! |

and toons, I dont think I would go that far just yet .... im happy enough to keep playing it was just a thought i had after they did the last update.
