In general I can see arguments both for and against a respec. The vehicle respec was nice as it allowed me to actually get more for my sp. with the new setup I can fly ads and still have what I wanted before the skill tree change.
What I am wondering is: if CCP decides to respec the suit skill tree, will they also respec equipment? I played logi mainly for that passive armour regen. My play style greatly matched having a passive armour regen and I don't know if it will be included still. As a Gallente the scan bonus to me is really worthless as I don't care at all about that role much. I understand that I don't have to respec into the suit again, but I spec'd into a ton of equipment to further my logi skills and "have a specialized role." Assuming the passive regen is gone, for me scanning is not enough to keep me a gallente logi.
If the suits get reworked that much, I would like my sp back from my equipment too, as I invested time into the logi not because it was "OP" or a "FOTM" but because I liked what it did in the original context when I started playing this game. As long as CCP pushes the front of individual soldier specialty, I would want to become specialized on the new terms of their update, not only partially from rebalancing issues.
If a respec is given, would you want to get equipment sp back too? Or other skills that no longer make sense for you to have?

Right now, with the huge changes, I think a full Weapon, Dropsuit, and Upgrade refund is needed.
Playstyles will radically be changing for all Infantry fighters. Assaults, Logi's, Heavies, and Commandos all have confirmed bonus changes. These will affect what modules and weapons will be effective with the suits. I see no reason why an SP refund should be denied to the Infantry Players.
Vehicle users got their SP refunded when their skill tree was radically changed. I see no reason why Infantry should be denied one. However, a full Respec isn't needed. Vehicles will likely not be changed much at all, so giving them a free card would not make sense.
Also note, more than one CPM agrees with this.
IWS is even supporting a full. (will post link if I find it)

I did the exact same thing. The main reason I did logi was that passive armor repair bonus. Way back when I first signed onto this game, people didn't run repair mods too often and repair hives were nonexistent. I spent time and SP into the suits because I liked to be able to help control battlefield tactics through strategic uplink placement and helping resupply allies in the midst of a firefight.
The other side I liked was that I was able to prove very effective in sticky situations. I could help defend areas and then once the smoke briefly cleared, drop uplinks for immediate reinforcements around a specific point or help tank lots of damage in order to help protect fallen squad mates while I revived them. Unfortunately that won't be the case anymore so I'll have to find something else that will work.
I'd like all SP back from dropsuit trees. Equipment itself doesn't bother me too much. I'd like a respec of skills related to the dropsuits though, especially if they become obsolete, things like max dropsuit armor and shielding.

I wouldn't mind a weapon respec, could get rid of now useless SP sinks like laser rifles and mass drivers from way back. I'll do fine without one though if I don't get one.

My alt will remain Amarr logi (if we get a respec), but I'm might lose about half of my armor regen; from about 11.5 to 6.25  .
Playing the logi class was what I did from the very beginning whenever I was on foot. That Skinweave Minmatar medium suit BPO was perfect for reviving and repping fallen teammates.

I hope no one confused CCP's decision to respec vehicle SP as a way of being nice to players. The entire vehicle tree was upended, and some skills were outright deleted and others were relocated. Everyone's vehicle skills had to go back to zero because it was a whole new tree.
IF the drop suit changes are implemented, there have been no indication from any of the 'leaked' information which would indicate a restructuring of the Dropsuit Command page itself. No skills are being removed, no branches being added. Rather some verbiage in the skills are being altered to act differently. DS Command still will lead to Mediums, heavies, and lights. And from there the Roles.
Don't expect a respec until they overhaul the skill tree itself. |

Yea the tree is still the same, but all the leaves are gone! Thats really the biggest issue I have. Is the roles I designed around my suit is not the same role t will be after the change. For the past six months I have been collecting skills and items to support the game I started playing. I am just now getting to be a threat on the field and can sway battles with my skills. After the update my role will not be what it was, I am afraid I will have to invest more time to get to the same level of play I am at now.
I really enjoy this game but it competes for time with my life. And as it goes life>game.

It's more like ... The Tree is still the same, but all the Leaves are changed from Oak leaves to Pine needles.

I totally agree refund on suits, suitupgrades and weapons but none for vehicles
