Please remove this gameplay. The MCC shield completely guards the sniper from any harm and as such has no place in our gameplay. Request 1: let infantry fall into the MCC instead of walking on top of it. Request 2: put all MCC's a few meters into the redline. Request 3: remove MCC's from all matches. Pick one |

Request 4: stop making incorrect claims about MCC shields protecting snipers on top of MCC.
I lost count of how many snipers I've killed that were sniping on top of MCC.

You need to be better informed, my friend.
The shield offers no protection to any merc perched on top of the MCC. As soon as you leave the spawn room, you're open season. Also, the game mechanic prevents you from shooting through the shield so you can't snipe from within the spawn room.
OK, CCP. When are knives finally going to be improved?

When I put my crosshairs on an enemy's head it should light up red and say 195%. When a sniper is on the MCC and I do that it says 0% and other information about the MCC. So no. It may be a glitch but it's being exploited too much and it shouldn't be ignored for the time it takes to fix it |

I got a question.
Did you bother to pull the trigger to make sure? If no, then there is your problem. Pull the trigger next time.

Note that MCC's shield is not on the surface of the hull, but rather at some distance from it. This is why snipers on top appear to be hovering in the air slightly above MCC (you can see this only if you're on a really elevated position). If you couldn't hit him, but were hitting the MCC, it's because he was behind that invisible cover. This also means he couldn't hit you either unless he moves closer. Next time, try to find a better position, or simply wait for him to move closer, and take him out.

That's nothing to do with the MCC's shield.
This is a rendering issue. You can get similar effects with far away mountains. Although something to do with the MCCs model seems to make it much worse.
Look at this image level of detail. This shows how the game renders stuff at distance however when figuring out if your bullets hit someone it still uses the high detail model.
These problems can't really be fixed on the PS3. |

The one thing I notice in games like Halo 3 and 4 is the rendering process.
Just like in Dust 514, objects render the same way in Halo at certain distances. You just notice it more in Halo than in Dust. The difference between the two, however, is the zoom-in feature of the weapons. I know this after years of playing Halo both in local free-for-alls and internet matchmaking.
Let's take a sniper rifle from Dust and compare it to a sniper rifle Halo. If you zoom in with a Dust sniper rifle, the rendering of objects in the distance remain exactly the same as you would see them without zooming in from the same distance. Now if you zoom in with a Halo sniper rifle then the rendering changes. You will see objects render more clearly and more defined as if you were closer to them. But as soon as you zoom back out, the rendering changes back to the way you see them at a far distance.
If Dust 514 can adopt this method of rendering from Halo, then this can quickly address the issue of snipers head-glitching to avoid getting counter sniped.

Last time I checked I thought you can snipe on the MCC, but when you run out of ammo you have to jump, as nanos don't stick there :P So I can't complain
