Why do people like to blame tankers for this current iteration of tanks?
Yes we complained that tanks were too expensive for the ease at which you could blow them up.
Just like people complain about dropsuits, and weapons and anything else.
But one thing everyone seems to forget, WE NEVER ASKED FOR A COMPLETE REBALANCE!
There were little things that all tankers were suggesting could be changed to make tanks more viable.
Then CCP comes out and says there is too much "NOISE" going on with tanks, so they are going to remove half the mods and start from scratch. THE ****???????????? NOOOOISSSEEEE.
It's the crazy Developers responsible for this situation.
We asked for changes like you do with your suits and weapons. Small tweaks here and there. Not just for tanks but dropships too.
We didn't ask for a redo. At least I damn sure didn't!

Actually I remember us asking for a lot.
Gunnlogi vs Madruga balance as a well fit Madruga would tear apart the best AV fit Gunnlogi with a Blaster.
Having the Engineering skill give a 5% bonuses to vehicle power grid as both had trouble fitting a full high or low rack of complex modules as well as a proto main turret. We expected to have standard Light turrets and mediocre Modules in our tanks secondary module slots.
Large Missile turret increased effectives
Increase to Shield hardener cycle time as they were ridiculesly short.
Fix to Armor reapers as I believe their cycle time was bugged.
Fix to small blaster and railgun turrets as the blaster had bad hit detection and the railgun was just useless.
Making Enforcers actually useful for their cost.
Bringing back the other tec 2 tanks; Marauders and Black Ops (not so much the black ops but definite the Marauders)
Some of us even asked to make dropships as they were and still are ridicules easy to shoot down
We also asked for racial tanks and turrets (Probably the most time consuming thing we asked and are still asking for)

Oh yes, being a gunnlogi pilot, I know. I had wrote numerous well constructed posts on the matter of the old maddy vs gunnlogi issues of the past. Though at time I felt crazy considering everyone was saying, oh well the gunnlogi is meant for range. Funny that a maddie rail still beat out a gunnlogi in a rail fight because of OP hardeners, and a glitched rep.
Rendering, was one of the number one hot issues, that could have solved a lot right there in itself.
But these are small changes compared to what happened in 1.7.

gunnlogis were hilariously bad tanks now they are not.
honestly I would have just set armor tanks back to their chrome effectiveness.
CCP however felt the need to rebuild from the ground up which is weird but hey it worked for the most part. sure a few things aren't working as intended but future builds and hotfixes will iron out the kinks.

Thanks to your thread I now realized that 99,9999% of all thread here (including yours) are absolutely useless, wrong and bullsh't. Finally, though I was only wrong about the number.
I could name at least five "tankers" who complained 24/7 here and asked for a remake over the last 6! months. So your thread is just wrong, but it doesn't even matter (see first line of my post)
The only positive thing? Tankers are mad now, because a Sica can fk them all the time, lol.
To know the true path, but yet, to never follow it. That is possibly the gravest sin.

Yeah, right now there is no complexity to tanks. After they get the rest of those mods added back in, I hope to find it fun and challenging again.
I like the path tanks are on, but we are no where near there. A LOT is still missing.

i chew up shield tanks and shlt them out in a steaming pile, shields are still weak compared to armor i think out of 28 tanks in 2 days i only lost half to rails and kiled several sica and gunlogi some back to bak that tried as a team to remove me |

Came across one in PC, I was a little surprised he was able to rep through my rail shots!
